Notes: In the immortal words of JFK: “We chose to make this hazy IPA not because it is easy, but because it is hard.” The good news is, it’s easy to drink. Brewed with Mosaic, Citra, and Amarillo hops for a juicy flavor that will send you straight to the moon.

6/19/19 (Chicago): $5.56 w/ tax 16 oz can purchased at Beer on the Wall, canned 4/30/19 @ 8;31, poured into pint glass. Bronze murky color pour, light fluffy white head leaves decent lacing. Mild citrus and grassy aroma. Very dry and bitter taste, citrus hops flavor, bitterness very strong, lack of balance. Light carbonation holds, very bitter after taste. Surly shoots for extremes and typically prevails, but this offering is a bitter one note pour.

Hazy, dirty orange with a half finger of short-lived tan-tinted head. Very little lacing.

Modest aroma of orange, a little stanky herb and pepper.

The taste has burnt orange, smokey herbs, grass, light weed and some slightly abrasive alcohol.

Thin bodied for a DIPA with prickly carbonation.

Decent tasting, but the other aspects are middle-of-the-road at best. Might be better if it weren’t New England style?

Space race pours a bronze color, with no head at all. Big giant , creamy sweet aroma. Flavor is sweet, and dry, hints of hops, and dry fruit. Bitter finish. Good body and feel. Overall, a much bigger, although ugly, new england IPA.

Super cloudy orange color. Little in the way of foam or lacing. Smell is crisp, green, dank, and juicy. Taste is tangy, sweet, citrusy, and juicy. Strong body, slightly mouth watering, sippable. Very good example of the style.

16oz, canned on 04/30/19. Hazy apricot colored DIPA is capped by a foamy off-white head. Fruity hop aroma hinting at peach, apricot, mango, and orange; light caramel and honey for malt scents; booze is definitely present in aroma as well. For flavors - it's hot and boozy while being very fruity; notes of apricot, peach, white grape, grapefruit, orange, mango, pine, caramel, and grain. Full body, ample carbonation, finish is bittersweet and semi dry; booze is very hot and very overwhelming. Overall, this has some good fruity hop flavors, but the hot alcohol really takes away from the experience. This could have been better with a lower ABV in my opinion.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on April 26, 2019. Brewed with Mosaic, Citra and Amarillo hops. Lacks the thick haze of a true NEIPA, but has a nice juicy flavor.

Standard imperial NEIPA that is too big for its britches. Why does it need to be 9.5%? Answer: it doesn't. Fusel alcohol notes dominate the backend to what is otherwise a good ipa. Would be much better at 6%.

This beer pours a somewhat hazy pale orange with a moderate head. The aroma is lead by bright citrus, with tangerine and mandarin orange, along with mango and pineapple. The flavor features a blend of bright citrus and overripe tropical notes, with mango, pineapple, tangerine, mandarin orange, kiwi, and a solid but lithe bitter finish. The mouthfeel is soft upfront with a crisp finish and fuzzy carbonation. Overall a nice beer, with a good balance between crisp, bright citrus and sweet, dank tropical, and with a nice amount of bitter balance.

Solid ne ipa with golden sunset orange color. Eggshell white head with lace. Tropical and soft. Fairly fruity. Earthy hops. Nice feel and drinkability. Will have again.
