Pours clear amber into a tulip glass from a pint bottle. The white head is 2-3 fingers high, foamy, moderately retained, and leaves moderate lacing on the glass. It dissapates to white froth after a minute or so.

The aroma is quite heady with grapefruit, pear, pine resin, and hops. There is thick citrus base to this beer, incorporating both ends of the spectrum of ripe-yet-pithy, on the nose. Those piney aromas give the ale a fresh, grassy scent, which mixes pleasantly with a lot of hops.

The mouth is positively filled with hops; this is a resiny, piney pale ale which draws on a lot of grapefruit, pear, mango and lychee flavours from sip to swallow yet doesn't overdo it. There is a hop bitterness on the tongue the entire time, but it never peaks like so many other pale ales, rather rolls pleasantly in the mouth, and you get the aromatic flavours on the finish instead. This gives a very fresh, floral aftertaste layered with light biscuit malts, and a balanced bitterness.

It feels rather full for a medium bodied beer, lightly carbonated, and quite beautifully oily. So many PA's let themselves down with a watery body, but this has a bit of solidity to it which is a breath of fresh air. The thicker feel combined with nice aromatic, fresh fruity flavours, make it equally enjoyable as a session-er and an easy goer.

Would recommend.

Pours pale gold with a large head, some lacing, and a film of creamy foams that remains. Nose is grassy, with some citrus and soapy notes. Flavor is crisp with biscuit notes and some of the same grassy profile. Mouthfeel is crisp. Maybe my expectations for this beer were a bit high, but it was just okay.

From 10/08/15. Pint on cask at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell in London.

Pours a somewhat clear orange color with half an inch of off white head and moderate carbonation evident.
Citrus hops, floral hops, soap, fruity malts. Medium body and moderate carbonation

Overall a decent APA but nothing special. Was listed as a kolsch but more of an APA.

A: Very clear, rusty orange. Light carbonation visible. The sizable, soapy head has great lasting power and leaves some spots of lacing.

S: Delicate aroma. Not quite in the background, but certainly subtle. American hops, resin, spices, pine. Aroma became more prominent as the beer warmed.

T: Follows the nose. I like it very much. It's a lovely APA produced in the UK. It's hops-forward for sure, but not overpowering.

M: Medium body with moderate carbonation. Some spicy bite at the sides of the tongue. Nice oily lick but not overdone.

O: This would make a very pleasant session beer. Delicious, American-style, hoppy, pale ale. Part of a mixed case delivered direct from the brewery. Will order again.
