12oz bottle
Pours two fingers of white head into my can-style glass. Fades to about a finger, but hangs tight there for quite some time, good retention so far. Initial lacing looks great. Body is very dark for an IPA, mix of dark orange, brown, and red colors. Loads of carbonation coming up from the bottom of the glass. Looks different, but very good so far.
Nose is slightly on the sweet side. Not over the top, but also not getting much malt depth here either, just some sugars. Hops are somewhat present, but not a very big character overall. Perhaps a tiny bit of a dark fruit, jam like character. Overall pretty vanilla, not too much going on for the nose.
Flavor is similar. Malt sweetness is here, but here in the flavor it does actually have notes, of caramel and bread, which are quite nice. Hop presence started off pretty rough, but has quickly settled down, and is now a supporting flavor, albeit firmly in the background. In no way what I would call a northwest IPA, as it is advertised, more an east coast (pre NE IPA) or even getting close to English IPA. Pretty simple beer, and even though it’s a darker IPA (something I don’t traditionally like), the malt profile is done well.
Mouthfeel is pretty good. Carbonation is medium-high. Body has a slight chewiness to it. Sugars are present, but leave almost as soon as they arrive. Bitterness is moderate at most, and does not linger either. Pretty solid mouthfeel here.
Drinkability is fine. Neither the sugars, nor hops linger, and it’s tasty enough.
The appearance turned out stellar. Head eventually faded, but overall retention was very good. Lacing was thick all the way down the glass.
Overall a decent brew. Could benefit heavily from a little more hop flavor, but perhaps they were focusing simply on the malt bill here – call it something else then, not a NW beer.

Bought a 12 oz bottle at Portland grocery store, Bottling date was 12/12/18....10 days old!
Pours clear copper. A skim of head.
Mild taste. Note: 7% abv, not 6.5% per the BA description.
The hops recipe is no "Murderers Row". A bit more malty than hoppy.
A pub draft beer, okay not great.

Had this at the brewpub location in Tillamook this summer. Probably the best beer they make outside of MOAS.
Pours a golden and light amber color, solid 3/4" white head on top, good clarity and retention. Aroma was hoppy, your standard stuff, citrus and a little bit of forest to it.
Taste was moderately toasted pale malts, very light caramel quality to it. Well carbonated, ~55 ibu bitterness. Hides alcohol decently. I think this could easily be a repeat/daily banger. It drinks pretty effortlessly. What I thought separated it from the more average PacNW pale/ipas on this trip was that this was not so reliant on caramel flavors and heavier Maris Otter or Crystal malts. Finished relatively dry. Lighter body.

22oz bottle served in a snifter. 06-07-17.
Pours a pretty reddish color, fairly clear, big head, lots of carbonation. Smell is a little toasty malt, a little pine bitterness.
Taste is overall fairly mild, maybe a hint of tea (think Newcastle, but less watery), and a lot more hoppy bitterness.
Mouthfeel is smeeth, dry, light. Overall, it's a solid IPA.
