Clear black colored beer with a small brown colored head.

Smells of toasted grain and coffee with a fruit scent of peach with some smoke.

Starts out Mildly sweet with a strong patent malt flavor. Fizzy on in the mouth for the style this one actually get drier as you drink it.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall a pretty standard stout.

Draught pint at the brewery, black with a small tan head that left light lace.

Smell is soft, dusted coco and coffee.

Taste is also rather soft, roasty, with more coffee then chocolate, and a dry finish. Very smooth and balanced, although I'd prefer a bit more umph. Also, I prefer a slightly sweeter export stout. Served too cold, it didn't really open up in the 30 mins or so over which I sipped it.

Mouthfeel is full and velvety, although I'd like a bit more carbonated creaminess.

Drinkability is just above average. While it's a nicely rounded and well executed stout, and drinks lighter then 7% ABV, it just didn't excite me to much.

Painted bomber, always nice for glass cutting or homebrew purposes. Pours black, 1" brown head. Looks good. Aroma is roast, dark fruit. I should also note this was aged 5 years before I drank it.

Taste had more of the dark fruit and roasted malt bitterness, but mouth feel was smooth enough that the bitterness didn't dominate. Hid the alcohol decently. No significant oxidation notes. This hit the hallmarks for style of an export and Russian Imperial Stout.

$7 a bomber I think, I dunno, that comes out to an expensive 6 pack. Would prefer 12oz bottles of this.
