The beer was deep brown in color with little head. The nose was malty, no hops in the nose, not to style. The medium light body was well carbonated that made for a good drinking experiance. The hops were very restrained with the balance toward the malt. The execution was flawless as expected from Pelican, however, the beer was underhopped for a American Brown Ale. Perhaps would get higher marks as an Amber.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a deep dark ruby red almost brown color. Finger’s worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. The aroma had some soft sweet nuts, light chocolate brownie, black pepper and wood. The flavor leaned towards the sweet side at first and then brought in a nice bready sweetness to follow into the aftertaste. Slight bready to woody finish. The feel was about medium bodied with a nice semi-smooth dry glimmering feel. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate. Overall, pretty nice brown ale, slightly different than what I’m used to. Worthy of more pours.

Looks- tan head.
Smell- like a nutty roasted caramel espresso.
Taste- that smacks your taste buds with pine, caramel, nutty, dark coffee'ish taste.
So not too much of a bitter brew fan, but i can say i enjoyed this brew, pretty smooth, definitely tickled my taste bud to something different. I tried this one cause i liked the kiwanda cream they make alongside this one.

Chestnut brown body with a quarter inch of soapy, beige head. Hops and floral scents with additional notes of cleaning solution. Pine notes with medium bitterness. A bit sharp on the palate. Caramel malt up front, finishing with an earthy hop bitterness.
