Look: dark amber in colour. Crystal clear. One-finger white head lots of carbonation. Smell : immediately a great strong smell of ginger. Smells like ginger beer! . Taste: rather sweet ginger flavour with some gingery spice. Reminds me of shandy but with ginger beer rather than lemonade . Feel: little thin slightly crisp not too great... Overall: Not bad, but a little sweet for my taste, nice to try though, won't buy again but would have again, if you know what I mean...

L: Amber colour. Crystal clear. One-finger white head leaves plenty of attractive lacing.

S: An immediate and overpowering smell of ginger. Too much for me.

T: Intense ginger flavour with some of the spicy heat from genuine root ginger. Seriously sweet. Way too much for me.

F: The ginger 'burn' is lasting. Kudos for using real root ginger, but otherwise the feel is thin and flat.

O: Totally not my cup of tea. At all. Too sweet. Ginger flavour and smell overpowers everything else. I ditched this one I'm afraid.

A sweet tasting beer with ginger tones. Lovely on a hot day, a perfect BBQ beer. May be too sweet for some.

Warm, shandy-like taste from the ginger, sweet, distinctive. Maybe too sweet.

Served at room temperature from 500ml bottle into handled pint mug.

A) Clear brown-amber with thin whitish head and a few bubbles rising. Looks average at best.

S) Very little, some warm raisiny notes is all.

T) A fairly unusual taste, but certainly pleasant. Warming yet mellow fruity malts with little hop bitterness. Unusual but pleasant coconut-esque aftertaste.

M) Refreshing but sturdy.

O) Wasn't expecting much from this based on some other beers from the same brewery, but this is quite unique. Highly recommended.

Golden and clear, with a fine white foam. Pilsneresque. The aroma is full of fresh, zesty ginger and little else – maybe a touch of lemon and honey but that may be the associations talking. The flavor is, sadly, not as zesty or spicy as the aroma, which is a shame because this is very sweet. If that ginger was just cranked up a few notches, this would be the pale ale equivalent of Old Jamaica. Instead it's more like Crabbie's, which is a shame. Not bad, refreshing and pleasant but too sweet to really keep me coming back. Possible food pairings: milk chocolate, vanilla, toffee, nut, or apple desserts; pork belly; Szechuan poultry or meat dishes; kebabs; club sandwiches.
