Found this exceptional beer on tap at one of my local watering holes. The color was a bit dark for a pale ale, and the darkish head quickly dissapated. A most complex pale ale of above average strength. Heavy on the hops, perhaps dry hopped, finishing to a malty, wine-like aftertaste. The brewers have stepped out and offered a wonderfully balanced, not at all average product. Almost like a half pale ale, half barleywine. Bravo

I had the Savannah Pale Ale at the Brick Store in Decatur, GA. It was a draft poured into a standard pint glass. The tap handle was really cool and I have to comment on it. It was a miniature of the “Bird Girl” statue that graces the cover of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The beer pours medium-dark amber and has about a ½” of head and a bit of lacing. The smell is the standard pale ale fruitiness and hoppyness. The taste is balanced but has a tad more hops than most pale ales I’ve had. Not as hoppy as Hooker Pale Ale but much more than say Bass. It is a smooth tasting PA with creaminess to it. I like it but it doesn’t stand out to me. Mouthfeel is medium and slightly fizzy.

Had this beer on tap at Churchill's last Saturday.

This beer pours an amber color with a small white head that holds decently and laces some. The smell is toasty and malty, but not all that bad. The taste is again all toasty malts with almost no hop characteristics. The mouthfeel had a decent body and nice carbonation. Overall, not too drinkable, it doesn't do much for me.
