Poured into a Dogfish Head pint glass. Pours a medium to dark bronzy copper amber with a thin light khaki head that stays as a thin patchy film and leaves slippery lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, light apple juice and a hint of winter spicing. Flavor follows with light caramel malt, light fruit juice and a hint of spicing, surprisingly attentuated, but leaves a long lingering caramel / maple syrup flavor but little malt nor hops. Medium bodied. An odd little winter beer, the caramel flavors are nice and the hints of spicing complement them, but the flavor is very, very subdued. Not watered done, but as if there was plenty of malt here (and the color and body support that), but that the malt is somewhat flavorless. The bad reviews here spooked me, but I did not feel this was a bad beer, just a very humble and lightly flavored one. I can't speak for the others, but I am drinking this in June, so the bottle has to be at least a half year old. It is not bad all things considered. I'd try other offerings from this brewery if I could find them. I liked the malt flavors such as they were.

Bottled: unk, just hit my shelves today.

A: Orange caramel with a transient quilt of white foam which falls to a broken sheet of the same. Excellent clarity. No lace.
S: Tea, honey and oxidized malts. Some metallic hints.
T: Sweet with some cardboard and some bitter tea.
M: Thin with hi carb and semi dry finish.
O: not good. Last time I will have it.

Picked up a bottle of this at 99 bottles in Fed. Way. No info for this beer is listed on the brewery's website.

12oz bottle poured into a pint.

A- A nice copperish orange color. Positives end there. Zero head and no lacing.

S- Only thing evident to the nose is a light alcohol odor. No ABV evident on bottle and doesn't drink that strong. Also get a bleachy note.

T- Very bland, a light toasted malt flavor that gets overhwelmed by the overall watery nature of the brew. Finish has a salty quality to it. Not unpleasant, just extremely bland.

M- Again, very watery. Has minimal carbonation, but it comes in a fluorish and is gone very qickly.

D- Not a very good beer, would not have another. I might try one more brew from this brewery before I wrote them off though. Malt balance is nice, just not refined at all.

12oz bottle purchased at Mid Columbia Wine & Spirits in Kennewick, Washington, for $1.25. First time I’d seen anything bottled from Rocky Coulee since their blonde ale.

Poured a clear, copper-like color, with a small, off-white head that dropped about as quickly as I typed this sentence. No lace, and efforts to agitate the foam back to life were just sad.

Big unbalanced malt flavor, along with some spoiled apple juice notes. Not good.

Even with the nose noted above, I was not prepared for how nasty this tasted. This tasted like fruit juice gone horribly wrong and … well, nothing else. There’s no hop flavor whatsoever.

The clarity of the color was literally the only thing to admire about this beer. I can’t describe how unimpressive it is. Hopefully, this is the last drainpour of 2012.
