This golden yellow Märzen beer, a jewel of Bavarian brewing, combines an exceptionally fine scent with a light, fruity flavor. Full-bodied and spicy at the same time, the malt is emphasized from first sip to the finish.

A: Pours a perfectly clear amber color. A dense white head forms with excellent retention and spiderweb looking lace left behind. This is a looker.
S: Wonderful baked bread aromas, Like walking into a bakery. Toasted malts, nutty. Overall simple, but a really spot on malty aroma that I love.
T: Like the nose, all the baked bread flavors you could ask for. Toasted malts, lightly grainy, just a very quick touch of earthy hops, before the honey like malty sweetness takes over again.
M/O: A medium body with moderate carbonation. Perfectly clean, and becomes ultra soft and very smooth in the finish. Really enjoyable to drink. Downed in big gulps, as I like to say.

While not particularly complicated, the malt character is great here. Less is certainly more as well. Just all around really enjoyable to drink, and spot on for the style.

Very enjoyable Bavarian Marzen, one of the very few Bavarian lagers available in Valencia, Spain (Corte Ingles).

From Belgian Style Ales, code of 094P.

Pours a clear light amber plenty of foam, good retention and lacing.

Smell is big grain, brown sugar like sweetness, some roasted notes, no bitterness.

Taste is grain, brown sugar sweetness, roasty, again, no bitterness. Rather different than a lot of Marzens that I have had. Older sample? Still is very pleasant.

Medium bodied light with the carbonation, I'd drink this again

From the 1 pt 9 fl oz bottle in a snifter. This solid marzen pours a chill hazed medium dark bronze
with a nice head of white foam that settles to a thin ring, thin dusty layer, and sports some nice lacing.
Nose of caramel, biscuit, toasted malts, and subtle peach notes. Flavors follow the nose with
breaded malts, caramel, biscuit, peach, a touch of toffee, and subtle spicy hop notes. Mouth feel
is medium, medium light carbonation, smooth, and finishing well balanced and clean on the finish.

Overall, a SOLID brew

Cheers

Look: Bronze to dark orange in color and cloudy with a lofty off-white head that settles to a lid, leaving great lacing behind

Aroma: Freshly baked bread, raw dough, biscuits, light toffee, and some melanoidin

Taste: Opens up with a boatload of any and everything bread; toasted crust, dough, bread, biscuits, and more, that pile on and start developing depth. Toffee and melanoidin swirl around but I’m not getting much in the way of floral hops and suspect this can is pretty old given the somewhat muted flavor overall

Mouthfeel: Full, clean, medium-high carbonation, and clean and crisp on the finish

Overall: I dig it. Once I opened and poured it, I could smell and then taste that this probably is not a fresh can but even so, it’s pretty good and still definitely tastes like a Marzen. It was a gamble on the freshness given where I bought it (hit & miss with old beer) but hadn’t tried these folks’ Marzen so took a chance

Cloudy dark amber appearance with a thin but lasting white head
Around medium light carbonation with a medium body.
Aroma is a nice mix of toasted grains and bread with some fruit, either apple or pear which gives it a nice earthy element. Definitely malt and maybe a little fig.
Taste stays true to aroma, very flavorful.
Overall this was really enjoyable

Picked up a four pack of pint cans. Best buy date on can: 030117 -- that doesn't seem right. By all other indications this seems to be a pretty fresh can.

Pours a copper in color with a creamy, finger thick layer of head on top with better than average retention and plenty of lacing on the glass as you drink. A few particulates. Carbonation looks below average, which is normal for the style. Might be one of the better heads I've seen on a marzen. Otherwise, it looks exactly as you'd expect.

This has a classic marzen aroma; bready, lightly toasted maltiness and a slightly sour, fruitiness, like apples, as well as a twist of lemon. Quite fresh smelling.

Taste follows the nose well. Lightly roasted, bready maltiness, honey, apples and a touch of lemony citrus. Pretty clean on the palate after the swallow with a faint lingering apple and light roastiness. It's a fairly simple flavor, but very refined.

This is medium bodied with lower carbonation that prickles the tongue on the swallow. Drinks extremely smooth and clean and finishes relatively crisp and a tad dry. It is a tiny bit thin feeling, but that actually lends to the drinkability. Really pleasurable to swallow this one.

I had no idea what to expect from this one. I've never seen anything from this brewery before, just grabbed it on a whim. Glad I did. This isn't as complex on the palate as say, Ayinger, but this has to be the most clean, smooth and refreshing marzen I've had. It's quite understated. Probably one of the few marzen I could drink in higher quantities. Very enjoyable stuff, I will look for this again next fall. Prost!

Pours a deep oak color with a slight hazyness....aroma is rich bready malts...

I love the rich melanoidin rich bready crust malty flavor. It brings that quality malt flavor sweetness while remaining clean and easy drinking.

Medium bodied...very enjoyable..

16.9 oz can into a Becher glass.
L: Pours slightly cloudy light amber with a thin frothy off white head that has low retention, lots of fine carbo bubbles, minimal lacing.
S: Caramelized malts, toasted grains, lightly floral, bread dough, restrained aroma overall.
T: Lightly sweet pale malts, a hint of toasted grains, extra clean tasting, a touch of honey in the finish, light background bread notes, distant apple, light citrus fruits in the middle.
F: Gently brisk, medium-bodied feel with a medium-long finish that is lightly dry.
O: A German-made Marzen that's on the lighter side. Lovely finishing notes of honey and has a fairly vacant after taste. Extremely crushable for a 5.5% ABV. Delightful overall. It is very good in its style.
