Reviewed from notes. I’ve had this beer more than multiple times in my life. The appearance is a dark brown colored body that leaves a nice one finger creamy tan lacing looking head. The body is totally too dark for any carbonation to be seen and a perfect super light foamy lacing is left. The smell has hazelnuts and brown sugar up front with some malts in the background, reminds me a bit of beer bread. The taste is the same as the smells coming through on my tongue with a bit more nuttiness. On the palate, she sits about a medium, maybe closer to heavy, still has a good deal of sharpness on the tongue with a sticky aftertaste. Overall, this is probably one of the best English Brown ales on the market one can get in the USA. Don’t pass up if you see it.

Look: dark brown, almost amber in color
Smell: very sweet, nutty aroma
Taste: moderate nut taste but is very smooth, not bitter whatsoever
Overall: This is a very tasty and delightful beer to drink; will definitely buy more. Wish it was more available in stores but I will be looking for more.

First half of the first beer was delicious, but the more I drank the more cloying it got. Almost too sweet for a beer, and definitely too sweet for a brown ale. Really wanted to like it, but this missed the mark for me.

Nice color and aroma. No head and flat. Not too old - dated 30 March and it's 11June.

22 oz bottle. Nutty aroma, caramel. Intense nutty flavor with a hint of brown sugar. Leaves a watery aftertaste. Looks like mud, tastes like nectar? Nectar--not quite, but it’s very good. Not much head, lacing is pretty good. Very good; not quite as excellent as I remember.

Look - Pours a clear brown color, a finger of light tan head, good retention.
Aroma - Not much else other than hazelnut, maybe a hint of coffee.
Taste - Like the aroma, dominated by hazelnut, good amount of sweetness, a hint of caramel. Malt flavors are hidden underneath the oily hazelnut which completely takes over he palate.
Feel - Medium bodied, slick, good carbonation.

Overall - One dimensional. The added hazelnut overpowers whatever malt complexity there may be hidden underneath.

355ml bottle poured into a mug.

The pour yields a dark brown liquid with some amber shade while builds up massive foamy tan head that gradually dissipates with great retention into a decent everlasting bubble sheet along with several sticky patch of lace.

Quite sweet aroma of malty goodness showing in a range of caramel and toffee along with some hint of chocolate and roasted profile, hazelnut can also be obviously perceived as well as some toasted nuttiness.

Malt is a backbone in the flavor structure by properly organizing its sweetness, toffee, and caramel flavor through the taste buds while hop lends its quick flash of light citrus zest as well as some bitterness to balance. Malt then comes back and breakthrough with a roasted note in order to compete against the richness of sweet hazelnut and rich nutty flavor.

Medium body with smooth mouthfeel and some lively carbonation to entertain the palate, the feeling is crisp with a dry finish.

Good malty brew with a good twist by the hazelnut extract making it so tasty and quite inviting, it is either great as stand-alone or pairing with dessert.
