This is my first review for BeerAdvocate.com, and it appears I have chosen a very good place to start. I have had a lot of nut brown ales, and this take on the style is very satisfying.

Appearance: medium amber with a relatively thin head that dissipated fairly quickly. A very appetizing-looking beer.

Smell: while there was a good caramel smell to the beer, it was very subtle and I feel it didn't add a whole lot to the experience.

Taste: the caramel and nut flavors really came out in the flavor. It is rather sweet and malty, but in this case I think that it plays a constructive part in the goodness of the beer.

Mouthfeel: a medium, almost creamy body which complements the style quite well.

Drinkability: this would be a great session beer; I imagine even better on tap.

Dark brown color. Medium head. Aroma is nutty and malty. A medium bodied brown ale. This is a very nice nut brown ale. Nutty and malty, smooth and sweet. Mellow and very drinkable. This is a beer that is complex enough for the experienced beer drinker, yet simple enough to wean someone off macro-swill. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is malty sweet. Etched/Painted beer bottle

can't believe this is my first time having this. roasted hazelnut blasts out of the glass with every whiff. Just enough hops to bitter it up, nutty taste with a good.roast quality. This will be my go to Thanksgiving beer for years to come. For now, it's perfect for a happy hour brown.

Mouthfeel is watery and appropriate, clean finish that leaves just a touch if the 13 malts that shape it. The only thing to improve is the higher than necessary alcohol by volume.

Quality from Rogue. I knew they could do it!

Another fine quality product from Rogue.

Purchased in a 22 oz bomber. My 2 cents about Rogue's "expensive" bomber controversy is that I'd really rather purchase it this way than in a six-pack. If I'm not blown away by a beer, I'd much rather only drink 22 ounces of it than 72.

And with that being said, this beer is worth the $5 bottle.

The scent gets your taste buds thumping in anticipation. Pleasantly sweet with maple-syrup tones, but not sicky-sweet or overpowering.

This beer fills your mouth full-up with its complexity. There's so much going on... It's hard to describe it all. I will leave some things to you to find out for yourself. I will say the hazelnut flavor is fully present & very well balanced in the mix.

Definitely a highly drinkable beer worth your $$$. This is easily the best brown ale i've ever had.

A: Brilliant brown under a ½” white foam collar that dissipates to a thick film.
S: Big nutrella nose at first but it slowly calms down.
T: Nutrella up front that fades to nuts in general by the aftertaste.
F: Creamy medium body and carbonation.
O: This is an interesting beer but there was just a shade too much hazelnut that dominates the brown ale flavors.
