It pours a amber color with a thin head and lots of carbonation. The smell is of of chocolate and coffee. Taste is of mild chocolate to start with then about halfway the hazelnut comes through. Overall a sweet drink that really is pleasant and enjoyable.

Fantastic brown. Notes of hazelnut and oddly enough pumpkin. Full bodied mouthfeel and a delicious roasted malt flavor. Everything you want in a brown with none of the odd flavor notes so common in this style. Well done Rogue!

Bomber purchased at the LCBO, listed at 5.6%. Dated Jul 25 2016 and served at cellar temperature.

Pours a dark copper-bronze colour; holding the glass to the light reveals its clarity, as well as some brilliant crimson red hues. One inch of frothy, light beige-coloured head dissipates over the next minute or three, leaving behind a thin, creamy cap and collar. I'm getting lots of hazelnut on the nose, in addition to cocoa, white chocolate and vanilla. Hints of sponge toffee, pecan and toasty, earthy, nutty goodness. Love the aroma on this one.

Tons of hazelnut flavour to sift through here, with the additional presence of chocolate/cocoa butter flavours giving it a bit of a Nutella vibe at points. Hints of coffee, pecan and cashew, with subtle vanilla flavours surfacing on the back end; finishes with a nutty, chocolatey note and some light earthy, herbal hop bitterness that doesn't quite manage to overpower the more saccharine facets of the profile. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation levels that gently nudge the surface of the palate, imparting a very low-level bite to the texture of this otherwise soft, exceptionally smooth brown ale. Easy to drink, but I don't think it's something I'd want to drink one after another.

Final Grade: 4.08, an impressive A-. Rogue's Hazelnut Brown Nectar is an undeniably solid American brown - although if you happen to feel that the hazelnut extract flavour is a bit overplayed, I can see where you're coming from. As someone who enjoys that flavour, it didn't really bug me - but people who are more sensitive to hazelnut might find this to be a little too sweet and cloying for their tastes. Worth picking up while it's available in Ontario, if you're at all a fan of malt-forward browns.

Love this beer! Lots of hazelnut, vanilla nuttiness. Wish the ABV was a little higher or maybe even an imperial version. Currently sipping on a 'Snicker's' which is half Rogue Double Chocolate Stout and Hazelnut Brown Nectar (although they will tell you to use regular chocolate stout which isn't nearly as good). And it does taste like snicker's.

Look: Pours a fairly dark transparent amber with a nice thin head and a good bit of carbonation.

Smell: Strong caramel and milk chocolate with a very faint alcohol smell. Smells delicious.

Taste: Roasted malts up front with slight chocolate in the middle similar to a light chocolate stout. Slight toffee/caramel in there as well. Tiny bit of hops at the end but very smooth like I like my beers to be. Excellent brown ale.

Feel: Good amount of carbonation and a little thin in the mouth but this works.

Overall: This is really good and drinkable. Perfect beer for late fall, would go great with Thanksgiving dinner. Will be buying again. 8/10.

12 oz bottle. Pours dark amber with off white head. Aroma is sweet toffee nutty. Taste is sweet hazelnut honey like with a malty hazelnut finish. Too sweet for my tastes.

Light brown appearance, red toward the edge. 1/2" off white head. Nutty aroma, mild hops.

Taste, not bad, a little sweet, a little malty, better than mass produced brown ales for sure. Tiny bit of chocolate malt? I like the complexity from the malts, but not much else going on. Nothing off flavor wise. Better than average for style.

From decervecitas. In Teku glass. After dinner. Too much hazelnut here, in aroma and aftertaste, so much that even makes me want to puke. I like hazelnuts, but this is excessive

355 ml bottle Bristol Beer Shop - Pours dark brown with a thin tanned head. Medium carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma - light nutty feel. Taste - sweetish light non overpowering nutty foretaste, roasted malty backnotes, light bitter finish. Nut feel works really nicely in this clearly lovingly brewed ale.

Rogue Brewing - I can't remember the last time I had one from this brewer, but if this is my first, I am impressed.

Full disclosure - I am a dark beer lover and these brown ales always catch my eye in the beer aisle and I'm glad this one did. Though out of the glass it pours very little head or lacing, the beer has this unique coloration to it. It reminded me of a very water coffee, liquid caramel, all with a haziness that I found quite appealing when normally I don't. The smell was a good and strong odor of hazelnut with caramel notes all mixing well with the ale. The mouthfeel was smooth, carbonated, but no detraction due to the fizz. Taste-wise I found it very smooth, easy to drink, and was able to pull out the hazelnut notes that made for a slight guzzling of the brew. Overall, it was a very good beer, I was impressed with it smell, unique look, and taste that made me wish I had more. I guess I gotta go gets me some...
