I love hazelnuts but I guess I'm not a big fan of hazelnut flavor in beer - or aroma for that matter. Luckily the beer paired very well with zucchini nut bread or I may have had a tough time finishing it. The base beer is a very solid brown ale.

Got this beer out of curiosity. The hazelnut flavor comes out and makes a nice warm taste with a clean finish. Very easy to drink. Overall a very nice ale! Good for winter.

Reviewed from notes. I’ve had this beer more than multiple times in my life. The appearance is a dark brown colored body that leaves a nice one finger creamy tan lacing looking head. The body is totally too dark for any carbonation to be seen and a perfect super light foamy lacing is left. The smell has hazelnuts and brown sugar up front with some malts in the background, reminds me a bit of beer bread. The taste is the same as the smells coming through on my tongue with a bit more nuttiness. On the palate, she sits about a medium, maybe closer to heavy, still has a good deal of sharpness on the tongue with a sticky aftertaste. Overall, this is probably one of the best English Brown ales on the market one can get in the USA. Don’t pass up if you see it.

Look: dark brown, almost amber in color
Smell: very sweet, nutty aroma
Taste: moderate nut taste but is very smooth, not bitter whatsoever
Overall: This is a very tasty and delightful beer to drink; will definitely buy more. Wish it was more available in stores but I will be looking for more.

First half of the first beer was delicious, but the more I drank the more cloying it got. Almost too sweet for a beer, and definitely too sweet for a brown ale. Really wanted to like it, but this missed the mark for me.

Nice color and aroma. No head and flat. Not too old - dated 30 March and it's 11June.

22 oz bottle. Nutty aroma, caramel. Intense nutty flavor with a hint of brown sugar. Leaves a watery aftertaste. Looks like mud, tastes like nectar? Nectar--not quite, but it’s very good. Not much head, lacing is pretty good. Very good; not quite as excellent as I remember.
