I have a soft spot for this beer....one of the first craft brews I got into. Still enjoyed with fond nostalgia. Deep brown/caramel in color. Looks like melted English toffee. Hazelnut coffee creamer on the nose. Nice mix of creamy nut and a faint hint of an old school brown ale. Enough layers to avoid this being a one note ale.

22oz bomber

A- Pours a brown ruby red color with a thick white head that leaves great lacing.

S- Rich caramel sweetness and loads of hazelnut coming through as well. Little to no hops present in the nose.

T- Toasted bread, hazelnut, caramel, toffee, and plenty of sweetness throughout. Some pale chocolate and coffee show up as it warms.

M- Medium bodied and well carbonated. Alcohol is almost non-existant.

O- A very nice brown ale with tons of hazelnut flavor.

Garnet and brown colored with a thick light tan head. Nutty aroma atop a nice brown ale. Smells slightly hoppier than an English-style brown. Deep hazelnut flavor, almost like doing a shot of Frangelico chased with a hoppy brown ale. I like the complexity of this beer, a lot of different flavors going on- Kona blend coffee, toffee, cocoa... Slick on the tongue, very enjoyable.

22oz. bomber served at just over fridge temperature in a nonic.

Appearance- Pours a clear reddish brown, creating a loud and boistrous two-finger head. After about two minutes, the foam reduces to a thin cap, eventually dissipating almost completely. Nothing here in the way of lacing at all.

Smell- Wonderfully earthy, aromatic hazelnut aroma that really emphasizes the "nut" aspect rather that a sweet or spicy element. Better and even more authentic than most hazelnut coffees I've tried.

Taste- A riveting sourness initially, almost as if a lemon wedge were placed in a cup of espresso. The bready malts then go on to carry the nutty flavors, while the hops balance nicely with their mildly bitter finish. During and after the swallow, the aforementioned citric character lingers for a moment and adds closure to the tasting.

Mouthfeel/Drinkabilty- Smooth and perfectly carbonated going in... the texture expands and softens in the mouth without being gassy. The swallow is easy and delicate, while still having enough body to complement the rich, hazelnut flavors that abound.

A satisfying drinker, and the nutty character is never overdone or overexpressed. Short of the 6.2% ABV, it would make a delicious social beverage for repeated consumption.

very darm ruby brow colr with a pretty thick tan head. when cold it gvies off a fairly strong grassy hops smell. when warmer the hops mello and the smell is almost all a pleasant coffee hazelnut. the taste of this changes a lot with the temp of the beer. When cold from the fridge it is pretty crisp with some pronounced hops flavors, somewhat fruity with the chocolatey hazelnut in the background. when it warms a little the hazelnut comes through big with chocolate and coffee flavors, the hops linger behind these much stronger flavors. in both cases there nuttiness to the taste with smooth sweet malt flavors and some fruity hops. thicker side of meduim mouthfeel that makes this a very tasty drinkable beer that doesn't sit too heavy despite a pretty rich taste.

Restrained aroma....somewhat sweet on the nose...nutty.

Dark brown in the glass...small head. Clear.

From the taste, I can tell why the refer to it as "nectar". It definitely has a nuttiness about it, but there's also a good deal of butterscotch, hazlenut sweetness in the body as well. Hops are very restrained in the back...a bit of sweetness hangs around after the swallow.

It's unlike anything I've had before to be honest. The hazlenut is as pronounced here as you'll find it anywhere, and this is about as sweet of a brown ale you'll find.

First off I would like to note that I'm a little pissed off at Rogue for tricking me. I bought this beer under the name Rogue Morimoto Hazelnut Signature Ale, only to come home to review it and learn that it is really just Hazelnut Brown Nectar (which I have already had) and the whole morimoto signature ale name is just an alias. Not cool in my book. but anyways...

A - Dark brown with a reddish tint. Small head that barely clung to the glass.

S - Can definetly smell the hazelnuts and chocolate.

T - I can really taste the hazelnuts in this which I really like. It starts out sweet then ends with a bitter finish.

M - Light bodied with medium carbonation I'd say. Bitterness sticks to the back of your tongue at the end.

D - Goes down very smooth, I could easily put down a few of these without much effort.

So overall I really like this beer. It's great, and its different. I really think they pulled off the whole hazelnut thing, which I was very skeptical about at first since I don't really like hazelnut coffee or anything like that. This beer is an exception though, it is just delicious. Good job rogue, just don't trick me again!

Poured from a 22 oz bomber.

A: One finger light brown head. Rich brown color with red hues. Lacing and head retention is almost nonexistent.
S: Super malty. Nice sweet nuttiness. Hazelnuts smell great.
T: Again nice maltiness. Roasted, almost buttery nuttiness. Nice sweetness that isn't too overpowering with just a bit of bitterness at the end
M: Very low carbonation and medium to light mouth feel. Bit disappointing
D: Very drinkable @ 6.2 % abv. Great dessert beer after a nice meal.

Would absolutly love to try on draft.
