12 ounce can poured into a tulip glass.

L---Not hazy, but impenetrable deep Amber color. Medium head that faded quickly and left good lacing.

S---Fairly mild aroma. Sweet & fruity (citrus). Some floral and honey notes as well, but very subtle.

T---Same notes as the nose, but a bit stronger. Clear hop presence.

F---Medium mouthfeel, mild carbonation. Good feel for style.

O---I was expecting more from Rogue. It's not bad, by any stretch, but it could be better.

12 oz. can from a 6-pack purchased from Roth's in WEst Salem . $9.99.
Pours a hazy amber colour? With a very nice thick and frothy off white head. Leaves great lace.
Aroma is pretty subdued. Maybe too many hops spoil the beer?. What there is is a strong caramel maltiness..then some floral hops. A bit of old style Oregon dankness in the end.
Flavor is a bit better with the hops. Very bitter, Which I don't mind. Fairly old style bittering.
Good mouth feel , well carbonated and medium thick.
Despite the haze this is an old style 1990s Oregon IPA. I like it others may not

this beer is all bitter in the front end with 0 finish! There is no complexity with 6 hops I would expect a bitter atmosphere but also citrus and piney flavors to push thru save your money if you live in Oregon look for boneyard RPM or HUB panda or breakside Wunderlust these last 3 you can drink with much more enjoyment.

12 ounce can.
Pours a burnt orange slightly hazy with finger plus of bubbly off white head.
Floral piney hops, citrus, caramel malt, honey/honeysuckle on the nose.
Malty sweet taste - honey, caramel - quickly to piney, leafy green bitterness with slightly resinous note.
Medium mouthfeel with tame carbonation; persistent lingering resinous slightly sticky bittersweetness.

12oz can served in a nonic glass. PKGD on 06/03/20.

Look- Slightly hazy amber color. Decent off-white head that slowly recedes to a light ring of foam, modest/light lacing. Light carbonation streams visible.

Smell- Citrus (grapefruit, orange and lemon), tropical fruit (pineapple and mango), peach and light dank melon, caramel malt, moderate pine and floral/herbal notes.

Taste- Similar to the aroma. Sweet malt, citrus, pineapple, light peach and melon, pine, big lingering hoppy bitter finish. Pretty nicely balanced.

Feel- Medium bodied, sticky, dryish side and fairly crisp. Medium/light carbonation on the tongue.

O- A nice old school west coast style IPA but nothing outstanding. Worth checking out though.

Solid ipa from Rogue. This brewery has impressed me since 1996. Very smooth and hoppy. Could be bitter and better for my tastes but then again this is not the Alchemist. More of a session and very drinkable.

Bought a 6-pack cans $8.98 Foodland
326 days old. Did not think to look at can date when buying. Don't think their bottles have dates.
Smell of lychee, orange juice, tangerines
Hazy amber color
Medium-heavy mouthfeel
Medium carbonation
Taste of lychee, slight caramel taste, alcohol aftertaste
Overall not that great. Maybe aging has something to do with it. Alcohol taste comes stronger the more I drink it, which to me means that it is not a refined product.

A: The beer is very hazy yellowish amber in color. It poured with a half finger high frothy white head that left a patch of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of woody and earthy hops are present in the nose along with notes of caramel and toffee-like malts.
T: The taste follows the smell, but is a little more complex with flavors of citrusy, earthy, floral, nutmeg, and woody hops along with notes of caramel and toffee malts. The hops also contribute a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a bit crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA has a good balance between the malts and hops.

Well, just when The CANQuest (tm) thought that it was done with Rogue Ales for the time being, they pull me back in! In my previous review, I remarked that I had run through my backlog inventory of Rogue Ales, only to have this one Pop up from the depths! 8=O Well, this is it, I pinky swear! I gotta move on!

From the CAN: "Ale Brewed with six Rogue Farms Hop varieties"; "Dare*Risk*Dream"; "Dedicated to Farmers & Fermenters"; "In a bold collaboration with Mother Nature, we grow our own varieties of aroma hops at Rogue Farms in Independence, OR. We also string, stake, train, test, tri, separate, sort, kiln and cool them. Brewmaster John Maier meticulously selected and blended 6 varieties of our hops to create the big, beautiful bite of our 6 Hop IPA."; "15.5° Plato*87 IBU*76 AA*12° L"; "Rogue Farms[:] This Rogue was brewed using ingredients grown on Rogue Farms in Oregon. From ground to glass, we're proud to say it's a true taste of Rogue terroir. To learn more about Rogue Farms and the Grow Your Own Revolution, visit us online at Rogue.com".

Johnny Rotten famously asked the Winterland Theatre audience in SF, at the end of the Sex Pistols' U.S. tour (& the band's subsequent break-up), "Well, do you feel as if you've been cheated?!?" He was disillusioned & saddened by the way that it had all played out & after these many days with Rogue, I don't feel disillusioned, saddened or in any way negative towards them. I just feel kind of melancholy at having to part ways for a while.

It's my fault for allowing the backlog to become a raging monster of which I finally took stock this past Summer while recuperating from, ironically, CANcerous prostate surgery. SMDH. It beCANe eminently clear that my cycle of going out & drinking beer while bringing more beer home had to stop. I am now doing a LOT more reviewing by virtue of beCANming a homebody. Yes, I am still buying SOME beers, but not EVERYTHING in sight, which had been my M.O. 8=( I am happy to spend time at home with my beers, my CANputer & keyboard & my TV, the latter usually tuned to sports which I listen to with my back turned until a) the action heats up or b) a score is registered. It's a 180° difference in my CANduct & many IRL have remarked on my beCANming a hermit, but the ChANge was necessary.

I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a very slow, gentle Glug as my nostalgia was beCANming almost crippling. I was elated as it foamed up to form two-plus fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, tawny head with great retention. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy Amber (SRM => 7, < 9). Nose had the earthiness of a wet hop/harvest AIPA, less bitter than simply earthy. Mmm. It held a curious admixture of berries, stone fruits, tropical fruits, citrus fruits & pine sap! Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was an amalgam of so many hoppy flavors that I almost did not know where to start. The tropical fruit flavor was much more muted than in the previous one, making this one MUCH closer to a West Coast AIPA, which is how they billed that one. Here, it was old school pine & grapefruit with a hint of blueberry and cherry, buoyed by the sweetness of tropical fruit. 8=O I may have inadvertently saved the best for last! Dang, but this was tasty. I was especially impressed by its additional earthiness, lending it another dimension. Finish was dry, but very earthy, very much of its terroir. Mmm. Me likee. YMMV.
