Enjoying this from my favorite beer place Growler Griz! The owner told me about it ...it is great if you like the "West Coast" style.

Pours into a standard pint a clear rich medium golden with a full finger sticky white head that leaves multiple 'globs' of lace behind as it settles slowly.Sharp grapefruit rind and citric notes in the nose, old school late 90's early 2000's here.If a fan of the left coast sharp slightly bitter IPA's than you will love this, sharp grapefruit and resin upfront on the palate followed by decent sugary sweetness with more lingering bitterness coming thru the finish.I like the East coast style IPA as much as the next person but the West coast style is what got me hooked on the style to begin with, great job Rogue...Keep it old school.

Big dank hops. Tropical juice up front. Then more dank boternese.
Great style example!

On draught at Frontier Brewing and Taproom.

Pours a lightly hazy orange yellow with a good finger of foam, nice lacing ensues.

Bitter nose with notes of grapefruit, tangerine, quite the tropical fruit kick, dank.

Grapefruit and tangerine, mango and pineapple, very tropical fruity and dank. Malt is almost as assertive. Tasty.

Mouthfeel is fine, it finishes aggressively hoppy yet there's still a splash of the malt.

Excellent.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is opaque copper, head is off white to light tan with thick frothy head, presenting about 1.5 inches thick and then lingers really well.

Smell is piney, light citrus, some toast and biscuit and then some light citrus rind.

Taste follows with great blend of hop flavor of pine, citrus rind, spice; malt comes through well with some toast and biscuit. Light caramel and toffee show through with warmth

Mouthfeel is quite bitter, but that is welcoming for the strength and moderate sweetness.

Overall a great ipa, even if its over a year old the hops hold up well and the malt provides a good backbone for the aged bitterness.

CAN
Dark bronze; pineapple + papaya with specks of grass + herb oil; toffee, ringing tangerine oil, lemon rind, some cantaloupe, + some weediness.

Big sweet nose. DEEP citrus, yet way easy for 8.7% - almost Pliny-esque that way. All nu skool - is this really you, Rogue? Superior.

Pours a nice looking uniformly cloudy amber colour with an active fizzy head which dies down quickly & leaves virtually no lacing. Aroma is of spices, cloves, bourbon & piney hops. Not getting much fruit in the aroma. Taste follows with spice, clove, sweet caramel malts, bourbon & piney hops giving it a nice full flavour but I don't get much of the fruit the description offers. Mouthfeel is fairly smooth & full. In the end, it gave me what the name & 8.7% ABV suggest; a spicy/piney West Coast IPA with a not-so-hidden alcohol flavour. The fruitiness promised by the description is virtually absent; but maybe my taste buds are spoiled from all the juicy NEIPAs I've been having lately.

Pours out a nice orange blossom honey color. The head is off-white and slightly frothy. Retention is moderate and Im not seeing any lacing. Its a beautiful color though.

Smells piney and tropical at the same time. Also getting a spicy floral note. There is a nice balance between sweetness and bitterness. Neither one over powers the other. Fruits I get are tangerine and apricot. Also very aromatic.

Bitter sweet orange upfront. Almost like biting directly into a rather sweet orange. Sweetens up through the middle and has a nice bitter orange rind lingering finish.

Mouth feel is slick and a bit oil. Carbonation is soft with tiny tingling bubbles.

Picked up a single from TW Arrowhead on 3-1-18 for $4.49. Canned on 12-8-17; cold stored since purchase.

Beer poured orange with a okay white head that hung around through most of the pint.

Nose was nice, juicy citrus was at the forefront.

Taste was very well balanced between the fairly large pale and toasted malts and the floral and citrus hops. Nice old school prickly pine finish.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and fairly smooth and refreshing.

Overall a nice old school double IPA. I was worried it was too old but Rogue has always brewed a stable beer that can withstand long stints on the shelf. Cheers!

A masterful IPA, just right for a June afternoon in Oregon. Golden straw color with a nice crunchy head. Hops assert their dominance right away in the nose. Fresh citrus, yes, but also plenty of sticky, piney resins. Taste is a triumph of balance: the hop notes blaze away, standing firmly on a big stage of honey biscuit malts. Classic, crisp, creamy feel. It’s a fine brew: rich, robust, Roguish!

Pours a hazed amber with a thumb of beige colored head. Hazed up, great lacing & head retention

S: Bready, pear notes

T: Grapefruit, leafy & grassyness, along with pears & white grape. Grassyness, dryness, pomelo & grapefruit as this warms. Finishes with grapefruit, dryness, a touch of breadyness

MF: Medium body, slight carbonation, picks up once warm alright balance

Grading this as a placeholder, has some age
