Aged in Dead Guy Whiskey Barrels, Dead N' Dead is the evolution of Dead Guy Ale. The barrels enhance the robust malt and hop profiles of original Dead Guy Ale. The ale soaks in hints of oak and whiskey while maturing over several months at the Rogue ocean aging room.

had way higher hopes for this, and by total coincidence i had an ancient bottle of this within a day or two of having it fresher on tap, and i didnt love it in either instance, although the aged one was downright whack, definitely let that go a little too long! rusty amber colored beer, okay clarity, more head from the tap than the old bottle, not a lot of viscosity for what it is. the aroma is faded and still sweet from the bottle, a little more hops in tact on the draft, major oxidation, a good amount of oak, less of the whiskey, some spice, and some brown sugar on the bottle, a little richer on tap and hoppier again, but more boozy. enough fade on the bottle to smell almost spoiled. its disjoined and kind of sloppy in both formats. the flavor agrees, the old bottle is undrinkable, my first not finished beer in some time. the draft is way better, owing to freshness, but the rogue whiskey character is strong, and i know its a polarizing spirit, i dont mind the spicy intensity and the alcohol in a style like this, especially at this time of year, but the oxidation is rough, the caramel sweetness too much, and the overall thinness not really fitting the rest of whats going on here. really just okay, i like the wood, the hops fit weird, the rogue whiskey is a strange one, and overall this really didnt do it for me in either situation. sort of blending out the scores here between the two, but as cool as this sounds on paper, its just not that great in the glass. overrated here on BA in my opinion, but i have probably still yet to try it at its best...

Muddy brown and malty, strong aroma and clean finish. Biscuit, roasted nutmeg, spicy deliciousness. Discreet but vivid whiskey presence. Great for the holidays and any time of the year.
Another Rogue beer that doesn't disappoints.

Poured a chestnut color with a beige head that left copious lacing. Looks good.
The aroma is lost on my Covid damaged nose. Bummer.
The taste is biscuits and whiskey with some hops floral notes thrown in. Curiously, it works pretty well.
The feel is oily smooth but better than that sounds. Lightly viscous and soft?
OA, happy to have tried it and may feel like drinking it again if I ever see it in the wild again.

Murky looking reddish brown pour, nice eggshell head leaves some serious lacing. Nose gets some caramel, a hint of whiskey, as do the buds. Smooth 'n creamy, a very nice brew.

On fire like the first day there was fire. A spark. A flame. Cave man goes crazy. Tonight, raul says, “ok, im cool with that.” I sip with ease. I sip and I’m pleased. Not 4th of July fireworks, but it’s December. So who cares?

Look: Dark brown/ amber pour from a pint can into a tulip glass. Heavy foam from the pour on the side. Lacing as it goes down. It's taking a while for it to go down too.
Smell: Oak, caramel, whiskey, spices, earthy beer here.
Taste: Same as description as above but enhanced. I'm getting a bit of cherry in this towards the end.
Feel: Heavy bodied, definitely taste the heaviness.
Overall: Not bad! Very good holiday beer!
