22oz bomber decanted into a pair of pints to share with the wife :)
A- Great looking beer, pours a great finger and a half light tan head. very rocky. excellent retention, lacing is well above par too. Color is a deepbrown, with just a little light plumb color around the edges.. Its a real looker.
S- Very sweet, carmel corn, grains and dried fruits.
T- many different malt aspects, caramel corn again from the nose, along with sweet hard candy, and toffee malt. A little alcohol at the end. Very low bitterness, theres 3 hops but none of them do much.
M- very good body, thick with slightly above average carbonation which makes it more drinkable. Clean finish, little aftertaste or residue,
O- Good beer, I will have a gain. Well rounded and a nice sweet balance of flavor that does not get sugary or artificial tasting.

Almost like a black IPA, without the hops. Not bad

Black core with dark brown edges, light brown head. Kinda cool looking. Nose is roasted malt, a bit of smoke. Taste is porter-like with a bit of a roasty-smokey thing with moderate sweetness. After a while it gets boring, but at least not watery like its sibling Soba Ale. Body is light, carbonation is mild-moderate but sharp.
Better than the last one, but still not much to say. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

Bought from Marukai $6.99
Dark muddy brown color
Heavy creamy mouth feel
Medium carbonation
Roasted malt taste, aftertaste reminds me of soba noodles
Overall it was good to try, but Rogue has other beers that I would prefer over this.

This is definitely an unusual sort of 'stout' but it goes well with food. Not overpowering but still delivering some character, in the form of roasted nut, light wheat, and maybe coffee.
