This is one where you either love it or hate it . It has a very pleasant smell of coffee , but NOT overwhelming by any means . Crisp blonde ale taste with a fresh coffee back end . Some people like their coffee flavored beers front and center . You will not get it with this one, and because of that , I really enjoyed it .

This CAN seem like it is out of order, given that I have not reviewed the original release, but this is a lower-ABV AmeriCAN Blonde as CANpared to a higher ABV AIPA. They will all get reviewed & added to The CANQuest (tm) eventually, but this seemed like the logical choice in my ongoing Rogue backlog eradication.
From the CAN: "Blonde Ale Blended With Cold Bew Coffee"; "Revolutionary Blend"; ""Dare*Risk*Dream"; "Dedicated to Two of Our Favorite Things"; "Rogue Cold Brew 2.0 continues the exploration of our two favorite things: coffee and beer.[;] "Brewed with Stumptown Coffee Roasters' famous Cold Brew Coffee, this brew opens with a big hit of coffee aroma that is balanced by the delicate, soft notes of a blonde ale. As the nuances of the hops and malts come through the initial coffee blast, you'll find yourself in awe of this flavor combination."; 30 IBU*"12° Plato*7° L*90 AA*".
I was both CANflicted & anxious on this one. I was anxious to Crack! open the vent, but at the same time, I was CANcerned about agitation that I may have caused. I think that this one came to me courtesy of my local, in-person trader, @tone77 & it had a sticker that not only obscured the UPC but some of the particulars as well. 8=(
I beCAN by Crack!ing open the vent & starting a slow, gentle C-Line Glug. I was rewarded with the formation of two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, French Vanilla-colored head with very good retention. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose smelled exactly like my morning coffee as it drips through the filter & into the pot. Mmm. Sadly, as an AmeriCAN Blonde, this was not within spec for the style. Remember, boys & girls, rate to style & NOT to personal taste! Mouthfeel was medium. The taste had too much coffee flavor for me to be able to identify it as a particular style. It was utterly pungent with coffee throughout & while that might be fine for the undiscerning and/or the uncaring, it simply lacked in terms of style. It had a light tang from the coffee's acids which would be fine in a Coffee Ale, if such a style existed, but for an AmeriCAN Blonde Ale? No. I understand their eagerness & willingness to experiment within styles, but this was not making it. Finish was dry, far drier than it should have been. Me = not a fan. YMMV.

Very solid beer. Has a really good coffee/malty flavor. Has a coffee smell to it, drinks smooth with a bit of a fizz to it. Overall, it’s definitely a must try

Pours a hazy maize color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of coffee, pale malt, sweet malt, and a hint of citrus hops. Fits the style of an American Blonde Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of coffee, pale malt, sweet malt, and a hint of citrus hops. Overall, weak appearance, but decent aroma and body, good feel and blend, but weak in body.

Hmmm...strange combination of a slightly sour, acidic blonde ale with just a faint hint of coffee. Mainly orange-yellow color with a little haze, barely any lingering head or lacing. Smells faintly of malt, sweet fruit and coffee. Tastes mainly of slightly sour, acidic ale and a little malt. The actual coffee roast flavors are so faint, distant and in the background that I had to double-check the expiration date of this beer. Thin mouthfeel, decent carbonation. Don't know if I had a bad batch or if something else happened, but this was a very disappointing beer.
