Rogue's best beer by any standard. But mostly mine. Because my standard is high, but subtle. Nothing against you ubiquitous high-gravity enablers. Godspeed, actually, but that's not how I roll. The Prada and Jil Sander to your Fubu, this precise, tailored beer is why minimalism is so 2010. I love this elegant pale ale in every capacity to the point where I have no interest in understanding the "honey" part. There's no residual sweetness, instead a Belgan triple finish--crisp and grainy, bitter but quaffable, and completely tremendous. So, why the honey? It just ferments out. Because you don't ferment aroma. The nose builds off of hops and picks up a smell that has little to do with beer. It's riesling. It's muscadet. It's fiano. But this ain't beer. And, so, it's perfect. Deal with it. Perfection is quantifiable. It can be judged. And it does make you better than you thought you could be.
