Pours jet black, but has ruby highlights when held up to light. Huge brown head that dissipates rather quickly. Nose is malty, and roasted fruitiness, with a fair amount of hoppiness. Taste is roasted coffee, some chocolate, with malt, and bitter hopiness. Smooth and creamy, but slightly biting mouthfeel. This is a nice beer, not one of my favorite porters, but it'll do.

Picked up a six pack at TJ's for $6.99.

Poured a nice black color with ruby understones. Head was good sized with thin bubbles, leaving a splotchy lacing behind. Nose is not as aromatic as hoped but is a good blend of chocolate and malts. Taste is a nice blend of mocha malts and a nice dry hopped coffee finish. Mouthfeel is creamy and full. Overall drinkability is good, this is a well produced style of beer by a very good brewer.

The Mocha porter pours a black as night with a head that stays only for a second or two.

The aroma of the porter is of chocolate and roasted malts.

The taste is real smooth and is balanced of chocolate, coffee and the roasted malts. Overall a refreshing porter either on a hot summer day or a lonely cold one in the winter.

12 oz bottle, probably quite old. Dark black with bloody edges. A big tan head lasted quite a while and left some nice lacing to boot. Aromas are all chocolate, caramel, espresso, and smoke. The taste is smoky up front with some roasted malt notes in the middle and some big espresso notes in the finish. wow, maybe aging this has made it into more of a smoked porter, than a mocha one. The mouthfeel was creamy and just right and the drinkability was good as well. A cheaper, not as good, AKSmokedPorter!

Poured into a pint glass.

A: Dark brown/black with one-finger, tan, creamy head that lasted a couple of minutes. Nice lacing.

S: Caramel malt and dark fruit.

T: Moderate sweetness and light bitterness. Coffee and chocolate. Nice roasted/charred finish.

M: Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Creamy.

O: Solid American porter. Above average in every way. Will try again.

A - This beer poured a dark brown color which produced a nicely sized, fluffy, light brown head which had good retention and a nice bit of lacing

S - The aromas of this beer had some of the chocolate and coffee tones you would expect from a Porter, but the hops are a little too much in this one

T - The taste of this beer was actually its strong point, a start of toasted malts is were this beer begins, anda bitter chocolate taste soon develops into a sweet one, the hops really do not show up

M - The mouthfeel of this beer had a medium body to with a moderate amount of carbonation

D - This beer gets good marks because I can get a 6-pack of it, but it is still a little high and the price a flavor of the Sierra Nevada Porter beat this one out
