From a bottle purchased at Eagle Provisions, Brooklyn. Slightly hazy rich gold in colour, quite highly carbonated giving a good white head. Little discernible aroma, just a vague maltiness. Flavour is smooth, the well-rounded bitterness comes through progressively to give a bitter finish from a malty start; a slight honey sweetness is there but could be more prominent in my opinion. An easy-drinking beer that is good for the style, but it's a pity the honey aspect and aroma are a bit too weak.

Pours almost the color of honey, golden and yellow, full 1" of white head. Good retention. Aroma was mute for the most part, I think the honey might be added pre fermentation so that it all ferments out because it does not smell like honey. There is a little bit of that mostly neutral Rogue pacman yeast and barley feels.
Taste is a mild venture. Grain. Mild hopping. Hits those as advertised smooth notes other than what seems like a greater than average amount of bitterness from the hops, I wouldn't say its problematic, just might turn off style aficionado homies. A light caramel presence in the mouth feel.
Sometimes a beer like this is nice when you don't want to think about beer or have Chicago pours.

A missed relic of the past - Old Chicago 2001. From notes: Good pour; lots of sediment and a thick honey-like yellow, with light orange and gold tints. Large, creamy, off-white head, plenty of lacing. Smells slightly sharp and citric, like grapefruit rinds mixed with honey. Dosent seem to go too well together in the nose. Flavor starts out with a honey-almond flavor but is broken up by the citrus bitterness. It's not horribly overpowering, but I'm not a huge fan of citric hops flavor in a cream ale. Malting is light, with a definite wateriness on the end. As it warms, more buttery, sweet, creaminess emerges and attempts to regain control of the beer. The citrus flavor abates somewhat on the end, leaving a more floral/herbal flavor, which works better with the malt sweetness here. Notes of yeast provide some interesting complexity in this, as well.

Poured into a pint glass. This beer has a deep golden honey like appearance with a nice looking, thick head that maintains for a while and then leaves some serious lacing. Smell is totally average - a little sweet, some floral and fruity notes as well. The taste is balanced - the honey is there, but is not dominant. There is a slight dryness that is welcome here as well as a clean, crisp finish. Mouthfeel is rich and creamy, as it should be - carbonation is moderate and works well here. This is quite easy to drink and pretty tasty - very good for a honey ale. Recommended.

From notes:
Golden straw in color with 1/4" head that dissipates fast... average lacing... slightly cloudy.
Sweet aroma, somewhat floral... touch of hops with a nice strawberry background... malty on top.
Definite honey flavor with a harsh swallow... sweet and mellow... "creamy"... malty finish.
Overall a pretty good beer.

This is my first review in quite a while. Moving shifts priorities. Finally settled in a new place, so why not a new beer?
The apperance matches up with the name "honey cream"; hazey golden brown, and almost no head. A fairly nice taste, but lacking in depth. Of course, cream ales tend to be lighter on the pallete, so this might be what you're looking for. This adds to the drinkability, and I can imagine this being perfect on a hot summer day.
Despite these positives, it's nothing spectacular. Just a rather tasty and easy to drink beer.

A fair offering from Rogue. Pours out to a murky bright orange color with a big pillowy head of white foam. Medium carbonation, lotsa lace. Aromas of sour malt, fermented grain, earth and herbs fill the nose. Taste is rather full for the style; malty, creamy bread notes, some light grains, a touch of floral hops. A honey and caramel note in there as well. Mouthfeel is decent. Drinkability is fair, for some reason I don't see this as all that drinkable, but it's a great interpretation of the style. Recommended.

Smeared medium darkened gold. Small puffy cap of white froth sits briefly before shrinking down to leave its always present boken skim and thin collar. Lacing is minimal is thin strings and some tiny spotting.
Aroma is dry, pale, and bready with an herbal-esk grass tone. Pilsner-type Munich malts and hops make it unique through and through and its a favorably medium in strength as it doesn't take much wiffing to grab the nose.
Pilsner-like taste too. A sense a theme here; the Munich malts are forward and set with a dry, pale, bready quickness. A breeze of honey sweetness creeps through just past midway along with a tiny bit of hops. Gradually gets less pale and dry as in grows into the finish. Adding more intertwined sweetness build up to help balance out the finish. The finish is tender and medium in length. Quite subtle with soem dry yeasty woodish notes floating around in there too.
Feel is solid within a medium body and a lower carbonation. When warm that is. The warmer the better for this to have in a glass then cold. Let it sit a good while then imbibe. Much more subtle and tender when wamed up a bit. Smooth and easy with just enough body, flavor, and interest to keep it, well... interesting.

It poured out a pretty typical translucent honey color (the same as the woman's shirt on the label). This bottle had a lot of carbonation, though it didn't keep much of a head. It has a light hoppy aroma and flavor, more bitterness than anything floral, citrusy, etc. Average mouthfeel, not rich, not thin. Not a bad beer, but compared some others by Rogue (the Dead Guy, Shapespeare Stout, and especially Chipotle ale), this one was pretty unremarkable.
