Unfortunately poured to a tulip glass.

A: The body is orange with some yellow hues on the bottom. The head is minimal but shows some retention and minor lacing.
S: The aroma is earthy, resinous and a bit malty. I was hoping to find a more prominent hop profile in the aroma but it's alright considering the lack of freshness of this bottle.
T: The taste is mildly resinous and sweet coming from the malts and the fruity profiles. But basically there are only two profiles here, one resinous and another malty, having too much strength when compared with other profiles.
M: The body is medium. Carbonation is perfect. Bitterness is mild (freshness again making its victims).
O: It's true that I never had a really good beer from Rogue but this one might be the closest to it, even if the freshness is not helping here.

Color is a cooper. Aroma is mild and do not get much hops in nose. Flavor is average. Feel is metallic/chalky. Overall I wasn't impressed. I am a huge IPA lover and love what Rogue puts out. This was only a single, not a Homeric.

Another one I have seen a million times at bottle shops and finally decided to try. Pours pretty, with a steady cloud white head atop a bronze body and copious lace appearing in the slow retreat. Nose is floral and citrus hops, with buttered bread malt notes slinking around the perimeter.

Big, powerful flavor with heavy hops up front and a long, lingering bitterness in the finish, which eventually becomes pretty astringent. There is some malt balance, which asserts itself more after a few sips. Pine resin, biscuit, wildflowers, grapefruit rind, and yeah, I guess soap round out a motley assortment of flavors. The key to this madness is the tight, thick texture that holds it all together, as it really could devolve into sloppy messiness.

Not what I look for in an IPA most of the time and not a beer for sessioning. However, I am glad to have finally tried it and it does have its off the wall charm. Definitely worth a try.

Nice pine hop note. Definitely an herbal note to start and a very dry hop finish
