The appearance was a nice looking hazy amber to orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There wasn’t any lacing. The smell had a nice blend of sweet honey to somewhat tart cherry. The taste was mainly sweet and somewhat tart carrying the cherry back into the flavor. Light tart cherry aftertaste leading into a slight bittersweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. There’s a nice carbonation about it. Overall, I say this was a pretty good Maibock I could have again. Recommend with some plain cheesecake.

2010 vintage that got lost in the cellar, so oak and whiskey are probably long gone.

Fairly hazy, peachy copper with a foamy cream head. Aroma is herbal and sweet, with caramel malt dominating, and a surprisingly strong whiskey and vanilla character. Flavor is also sweet and malty, with said whiskey and vanilla adding complexity, and a lightly bitter, oaky, toasted finish. There's a bit of a tangy character that's slightly offputting. Not sure if it's barrel-derived, but that wouldn't surprise me. Still retains a bit of alcohol warmth.

2011 vintage

a - poured a 1/2 finger thick off-white head into a snifter that dissipated quickly. the body was a bright amber color.
s - honey and caramel.
t - honey and caramel with some oak coming through.
m - medium and slick body.
o - decent beer but i wish the oak was more pronounced.
