Appearance: Pours a thick dark black with high carbonation. It has a finger of tan head which dissipated rather quickly.

Smell: I didn't get any overwhelming smell, so cant say either way.

Taste: A strong chocolate taste, smooth and thick which ends with a slight bitterness.

Mouth feel: Thick and smooth again, I enjoy a thicker beer, wouldn't go as far as milkshake which was what the salesman told me but very enjoyable none the less.

Overall: As one of my first double chocolate stouts this is a winner. I would recommend this beer and with a 9%ABV its a shake rattle and roll baby.

750ml bottle at 41 F poured into a pair of large chalices. Surprisingly, I can't find a bottle code or date

Pours black, not much head -- just a light brown ring. Not much carbonation. Looks thick. Smell is chocolate and black licorice, slightly sweet.

Taste is more of the smell. Chocolate and black licorice, Something tealike, much more coffee. Nice sweetness.

Mouthfeel is thick but not heavy, slight grit. Overall, very tasty.

Belatedly: Vanilla. Definitely some vanilla. Maybe it came out more as it warmed.

Pitch black pour with a brown two finger head. Smell is roasted chocolate. Big bold flavor of chocolate and dark malt. Body is very complex with flavors of chocolate, toffee, espresso, and vanilla. Finishes with a slight bitter espresso flavor.
