Appearance - poured into a tulip glass, pours toffee coloured developed a bubbly head that retains well, lacing retains. Aroma - malty with vanilla? Taste - oaky, nice mouthful, of foamy head that added character. Happiness that lingers and is appreciated. Mouthfeel - interesting to have a foamy / creamy head that is offset by an astringent element in the beer. Cool. Overall - I really appreciate this beer, it is well balanced. I really like the lingering hoppiness. Would recommend.

A: poured from a 22 oz bottle into a pint glass, dark brown colored with a large tan head that lingers leaving good lacing, clear

S: bready dark malt, pumpernickel, biscuit, light hop bitterness

T: bitter black patent malt, coffee, dark cocoa, bitter pine hop finish, little sweetness

M: slightly creamy

O: would be better if there were some malt sweetness for balance

This is a decent black ipa. The beer poured a opaque dark with thin white head that is leaving a lace. The scent and taste have roast and piney hops. The Mouthfeel is medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it's a good beer.

Opaque dark chocolate with Ruby highlights and a thick tan head that sticks around and produces some nice lace.

The aroma is rich sweet roasted malt with pine resin and a hint of chocolate.

The taste is similar with lots of dark roasted malts with hints of coffee and chocolate and a serious dose of grapefruit and pine resin hop bite at the finish.

Mouth feel is full bodied and creamy, very nice.

Overall an interesting and enjoyable brew, maybe just a bit heavy on the pine resin for balance.

L - Dark thick body with a well lasting tan head.
S - Roasted and malty
T - Dark brews generally have a bitterness but the hops makes the bitterness hang.
F - Full bodied.
O - Not a fan of the style in general but all in all not bad.

Poured into a Rogue Dead Guy Ale shaker pint.

Look: Dark chocolate is the color of the body with ruby hue coming through on the edges in the light. A frothy, soapy cream colored head that doesn't recede much at all. Sheets of foamy lacing.

Aroma: Roasted malts, rich dark chocolate. But then that thing -- that undeniable Rogue cedar, spice aroma.

Taste: Charred grains, bitter black coffee, spicy cedar.

Mouthfeel: Thick, creamy.

Overall: I like this beer a ton. Really good coffee, chocolate notes. The downfall is the typical Rogue aroma/taste that is in all of their beers, but that's their identity, so no worries. This was worth $5.99 for a bomber I think.
