From notes taken 03/28/16:

Mostly clear light orange amber body, but full of minute suspended flakes. Foamy eggshell white head of moderate retention. Strong honey, resin, crackers, tea, esters on the nose, nothing to suggest juniper. Semi-tart throughout, a little papery, pine/juniper like hops, vegetal, almost rindy bitterness. A little more juniper in the aftertaste. Medium-bodied, medium carbonation with sparse prickles and abundant suds.

Orange appearance, looks like a good beer, hearty. Aroma was a little bit treeish. Taste fell flat, weird additions of spice and tree rack dominate anything that I believe is hops, barley or yeast.

Can't really say this tastes like a pale ale or juniper. This is Rogue/DFH doing what they are most known for, kind of making you go 'what the hell was that I just had?"

I had much higher hopes for this Pale Ale. It's an alright Pale Ale - very piney, as I guess one would expect. But the piney flavor didn't necessarily equate to a "juniper" flavor in my opinion. Drinkable, but I don't think I'd buy this beer again.

L: A pale gold pour with a slight haze crowned by a 2” cream colored frothy foam collar.
S: Juniper, hop and fruit dominate the aroma.
T: Primarily juniper backed by a mild bitterness, sweet malts, spice, citrus and fruit over bread.
F: Medium to medium light body, medium carbonation.
O: A unique, refreshing brew.

Well, I usually don't buy Rogue given their prices. However, I make an exception when it comes to small singles. Here goes:

A: Very hazy orange-gold. Pours a medium-sized head that quickly recedes, leaving some lacing. Alright.

S: Lemon, coriander, and substantial bready aromas coming from the yeast. Very bready. Hint of juniper, although it's not prominent.

T: Lots of breadiness, light spices, lemon and orange peel. Like a Belgian pale. Juniper is also more prominent.

F: Thick and bready. Good.

O: Interesting beer. Definitely not worth the price, however.
