A: Poured a cloudy burnt orangish/light brown color with ok carbonation presneting a dirty white cap, some bubbles and decent lacing

S: Pretty simple; bacom, maple and smoke with a little sweetness

T: Upfront is a weird sweet meets smokey meets salty thing going on..and its not good. The smokey bacon notes tend to dominate and the some maple sweetness. The finish has a sweetness to it.

M: I felt it was thin bodied, offputting and highly carbonated

O: Novelty drainpour.

This beer is amazing. I've been waiting to find this gem and it was worth the wait. The scent of this beer is pure maple. As soon as the beer hits your tongue, your senses are flooded with bacon. The maple hits you after, leaving almost a coating in your mouth. On the back end, you do seem to pick up the donut flavor. Overall, it is an incredible beer. I wasn't sure how these flavors would work together in a beer, but it is a perfect combination. Like breakfast in your mouth! I picked up an extra bottle at Total Wine and was assured that they would be ordering a larger quantity in the future!

Props to joemcgrath27 for firing a bottle of this to me.

A - Pours a slightly hazy copper colour, finger of head with decent retention and some sporadic lacing.

S - The sweet maple notes are surprisingly discernible in the nose, a sour smokey scent also dominates with a hint of bready caramel.

T - The smokey flavors take over, and I must admit I do feel like it has a flavor reminiscent of maple bacon that lingers on the palette. The smokey malts linger with a touch of burnt tobacco and a touch of buttered bread and maple sugar.

M - Medium bodied, smooth and sticky on the finish.

O - Aptly named and certainly unique. A treat of a beer, the maple flavors definitely complement the smoke, and the smoke is surprisingly strong (yet not overwhelming). Not something you can drink several of but definitely worth a try, and lives up to its name!

Bottle generously shared by Bradford. Thanks homey. This one pours a clear maple brown color with a finger of white head.

The aroma is smokey as heck with lots of sweet maple in the background. Reminds me of a campfire with lots of overly sweet maple. Just as indicated this has a light sweet flavor with lots of smoke and a bitter finish.

The body is light with god carbonation. Surprisingly not sticky at all.

Overall I chalk this one up to a bad gimmick. Cool looking bottle but that is the most this has going for it. I'm not finishing this. It doesn't really come together.

Enjoyed in a pint glass

A: pours a perfectly clear medium amber color with a small amount of carbonation bubbles and an ample amount of head which lingers for a little bit before dissipating and leaving virtually no lacing
S: tons of smokey malt notes, reminds me a lot of the smell of clothes for a night siting by a campfire, i definitely notice the maple notes but only when I'm looking for them
T: begins with a nice sweetness on the tongue then moves into a nice smokey malt note, the smoked malts intensify during and after the finish of the sip, leaves a smokey note in the back of the throat, reminds me a bit more of smoked pancetta chips that more girlfriend makes
M: minimal carbonation tingle, thin and yet some how thick across the palate, leaves the mouth slightly dry
O: I actually find this to be one of the more drinkable smoked beers I've come across, I'm liking it more and more he more I drink of it and ya character has really smoothed out as it has warmed up

Rogue Voodoo Doughnut

Appearance: dark orange, some lacing, and small head.

Smell: strong syrupy maple, faint bacon, and a malt.

Taste: bitter light maple, light bacon, and a grainy finish.

Mouthfeel: light.

I thought this would be an interesting beer. It seemed that way initially, but then it turns watery and light in flavors that plain and simply do not work brewed together. I would only buy this as a novelty to never drink.

This beer is a big swing and miss.

A: Soapy beige head; near clear amber body high carbonation.

S: Strong smoke bacon aroma and maple syrup.

T: Initial taste of maple sugar in the head. Then very smokey and salty. Like dumping water on a fire and then sucking on the log.

M: Medium body with mild carbonation and oily finish.

O: Disgusting. I would never drink a whole bottle.

I have to say overall I'm not a huge fan of smoked beers, but I have had some that I do enjoy.

A: single finger head on clear, copper with golden hues body. poor head retention but nicer head than many other smoked beers.

S: smells like your breakfast plate does at the end of a giant buffet breakfast... the syrup as spread over the remaining eggs and bacon to make a maple and bacon symbiotic aroma. nice mesquite note.

T: flavor is mostly mesquite and smokey. applewood bacon and syrup is less prevalent. simple but very tolerable flavor for the style.

M: medium body and high carbonation.

Overall: very interesting beer and very complex for the style. Definitley worth trying and one of the more intersting beer bottles in my collection.

A-pours a light amber color, not quite transparent, white head with average retention
S-maple syrup, bacon, bit of smokiness in the background
T-smoked malt and bacon flavor come up front, nice hop bitterness mixes in, then finishes with the sweret maple syrup and a hint of bacon again
M-medium-light bodied with a fair amount of carbonation
O-I loved this beer. I am a huge bacon fan and I thought it was unqiue, delicious,, and very drinkable for the flavors that went into. wouldn't buy it all the time but definitely a really cool beer to have once in awhile.
