Poured from a Bomber into a pint glass. Pumpkin beer is one of my favorite styles of beer. This brew has a great pumpkin aroma and flavor. A well balanced blend of pumpkin and hops. I look forward to the autumn just for this beer.

Pours a bronze colour, quite pale on the edge. Lovely steady carbonation up the sides. Head is off-white, dense, retaining well. Looks nice.

Smells like a gruit. Lots of aniseed, clove, slightly tart with a touch of pepper. Light caramel malt as well. Yeah, interesting but I don't love it.

Cinnamon upfront on the palate and then all-spice all the way through. Big spice mix and Chinese medicine shop character, with some floral notes, aniseed and a decent burnt caramel undertone. Decent flavours: plenty of spice without strangling it.

Gets a little prickly midway. A touch on the thin side, but OK.

Interesting beer, but I can't say I'd trample my mother to death to get another glass.

A: Head is tan to off white and is considerable. Deep pumpkin color with dark brown tones.

S: Cinnamon, Pumpkin, Nutmeg, Cloves, Anise, Orange, Vanilla, Chinese Five Spice.

T: Roasted pumpkin pie. IF Pumpkin Pie were a beverage this would be it. I would say it is missing whipped cream... but it almost has that quality as well. Full marks. Roasted and dry, this beer is fantastic. Pumpkin really shines as a part of the beer's flavor profile instead of just being an add on flavor.

M: Light to Medium bodied. Fantastic carbonation.

O: It is July. It feels like early October in my mouth. Fantastic. I don't normally agree with the Rogue beers... but this one is heads and tails above the rest. Truly a treat to drink.
