On-tap at the Rogue Public House in San Francisco, on to the beer:

I'm not familiar with this hop, but let's see how I can assess this. This beer is nearly orange in color with a creamy head and solid lace painting itself on the glass. The nose is...toothpaste? Something along those lines. Thankfully, there's some chewed malt aromas to remind me that this is a beer.

Is the Freedom hop supposed to possess a little "mint" note? Either way, this beer turns out to be acceptable, but a little strange. Pale malt at the base, some vague grassy hop notes, equals an overall run of the mill ale. Lighter medium in the body, with a tingle of carbonation on the tongue. Fine to try once, and with Rogue producing a number of good beers, may only get that one chance.
