Formerly Rogue Farms Fresh Roast
A dark, bold, roasty ale reminiscent of fresh-brewed coffee. Just imagine that smell of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air early in the morning.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is dark brown, nearly black, head is light tan with fine bubbles and presents about 1 inch deep and then lingers well with solid top.
Smell is lightly roasty, light chocolate, hint of grassy bitterness.
Taste is quite pleasant with roast, chocolate, moderate bitterness, clean hops.
Mouthfeel is crisp, quite bitter on the tongue like a strong cup of black coffee.
Overall a roasty, bitter, with light chocolate brown ale.

From cervezasespeciales. In Teku glass. Playing Avernum 2. Typical roasted notes of brown ale very well implemented, with superb drinkability and low alcohol effects

Poured 12oz bottle into snifter glass. 5.7% abv
Appearance- Dark charcoal brown with a light brown course bubbled head with decent lacing.
Smell- Chocolate, toffee, expresso
Taste- Barely graininess with hints of cocoa from that dark malt. The roasted quality picks up, becoming a smoky char flavor on the palate. A milky quality is also present, like that of a milk stout. The smokiness compliments the coffee bean flavor. Finishes bitter and coffee-like.
Mouthfeel- Medium in body with active carbonation.
Overall- A medium to light ale that showcases the roasted coffee flavor well. The flavor is quite bold. Well brewed beer

DATE: March 21, 2018... OCCASION: snow day #7, still snowing strong... GLASSWARE: Orioles mug... pours a velvet-brown body, about 90% opaque,, which allows the eye to glimpse steady streams of thin bubbles moving upward... the head thickens immediately to a doughy, oatmeal brown two-fingered riser whose resistance to gravity is admirable... I am not 273 feet from the glass, but all the same, strong roasted malts arrest the nostril, much as a rich French roast should... soft chocolate, marshmallow, lactic milkiness, sharp tannins, and trace elements of butterscotch, peat and yeast can be detected, in that order... together, a formidable alliance that invites the first sip... a smooth, creamy introduction is backed by a rugged, textured finish--long and intense, belying its 5.7% ABV... its head retention aids the creaminess early, providing a n extra dimension of medium-bodied experience.... a cola's effervescence is delayed by its stronger elements... its finish is espresso-sweet, piqued by the roasted malts and chocolate/lactic acids, with the trademark brown ale cola making a late appearance... the subtler flavors are subdued; the impact and enjoyment of this is its holy offspring of two great beverages--both suitable for the weather right now... haven't had a Rogue in a bit, but this one slipped into a mix twelve at County Liquors, and I am glad that it did--price gouging aside, the Rogues made a tasty treat here...
