What a find this was last trip to visit the fam in Santa Fe, NM. I had heard about kokoman, a liquor store right near a bunch of the casinos out towards the indian lands, but had never gone there before. My mistake! Upon walking in, saw a bunch of stuff that i couldn't believe i could get in NM, Abyss, Dieu du Ciel brews, goose island, in NM! I must have been there at least an hour, picking out about 20 bottles of beer to both enjoy with my uncle and to ship home to FLA. There were of course a bunch of country boys buying the 18 packs of bud lite and natural ice, but what can you do about people set in their ways. My only gripe was that the staff didn't seem to eager to help or even acknowledge i was there until i went to check out. Good thing i didn't need any help but there could be some newbies to the world of craft that might in the future!

There's a little something for everyone in this place! I love the selection and the prices. They have everything from the ever elusive Dogfish Head to Coors Light. Friendly and knowledgeable staff; I've been shopping here since the day I turn 21 and will continue to do so. They have the same if not better selection than TotalWine!

TLDR: They have almost everything you could want, and if they don't they will try to hunt it down for you.

The other reviewers are correct. This is a great beer store for its location.

Kokoman is not as far out of Santa Fe as it appears, so the location is actually pretty decent. Cluttered, somewhat dirty and dusty appearance (wouldn't recommend the restroom). Lots of dusty wine bottles, and some of the more rare beers could use a sweep as well. However, rare beers there are, which appears to be a rarity itself in NM. Four shelves in height, and about 25 or so feet long, plus 7 or 8 racks in the fridge. Pretty good selection. Quality is good, plenty of local brews including the Monk's ale, alongside national heavy hitters like Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams, and Deschutes. You can find something to drink here, no problem. Prices are great, even a little lower than I get in Phoenix.

The guys working when I was there pointed me to the restroom and were polite. They didn't seem to know a thing about the quality of their beer, however, and the fact that they don't clean off their best bottles shows that they don't care about selling their customers a great product. That said, it's not the only thing they sell, and the product itself comes from the finest brewers in the world. Just wish they would appreciate that fact.

Man, a metal building on an Indian reservation.

They've got a few signs outside touting good selection, but you'd never guess how serious they are.

I'm not sure if being on the reservation is helping them get around state / federal beer laws but this place has numerous imports that I've never seen anywhere else in the country or at best have spotted once or twice.

Rodenbach, Cantillon, Del Dolle and other rare Belgians, beers from small producers in the UK and Scandinavia. Sour Red Ale from Italy?! They have micro from all over the US, mostly Rockies and West Coast, but look for some rare finds like Sam Adam's tripple bock.

Unfortunately a lot of the really rare stuff is not kept in the fridge and although they AC the place I bet the average temp is a bit above preferred storage conditions. Not a chronic problem but I've had a few spoiled bottles.

The store has a bit of that state run feel (the folks working are behind the counter and not out and about to see if anyone has questions) Basically, you're inside of a small warehouse. That said, nobody is rude and if you ask for help you'll get it.

This place is a bit of an anomaly and well worth a visit.

The best liqour place I've been to in NM. Great prices, great selection, and they're always helpful with inventory and recommendations.

Their wine selection is excellent, but their beer selection and cognac selections are what really impress me. A couple of $2000 bottles of cognac says a lot about this place, and they have a ton of great beer and not so much crappy beer.

This is the place that all the scientists like Oppenheimer, Einstein and Manley bought their booze while building the atom bomb that ended World War 2!

UPDATE: I just went in and got a few cases of The Abyss. YES!

I am visiting the area for work and stopped in here based on the reviews of this site. They are right on the money. The place is packed to the ceiling with all your alcohol needs. The selection or beer is great; all the quality beers from Colorado(Avery, Great Divide, etc) , a good selection of Stone beers, including the Guardian, and many others. The prices were in a bit lower than what I am used to on the East Coast, like Delaware and MD, not PA. The Stone bombers were around 4.50. They also have a very nice wine selection. The big macros were relatively inexpensive if you need to stock up on them.

This place is the best place to buy beer in New Mexico that I know of. It is a warehouse sized building thats is totally packed to the gills with stuff. There is a huge selection of bombers from American micros and you can get some great deals on cases. They have liquor there you've never even heard of and you can seriously look at stuff till your eyes bleed. The place is just awesome. If you live in Santa Fe, it is easily worth the half-hour pilgrimage. Friendly staff will help you navagate the overwhelming assortment of goodies. If you can't find it here, its probably not possible to get it in New Mexico. Go now.

Always the place I choose to pick up anything while on my way home from work. While the place doesn't look like much from the outside it is one of the best places to find craft brews in New Mexico.

Quite a large selection of native NM brews along with most of the quality brews from CO. Beers outside of NM and CO include practically all of Stone's offerings, Deschutes, Rogue and several other pacific NW breweries, many Belgian(including Cantillon) and German offerings also.

My favorite time is winter when the set up a huge display of winter offerings: Jubeale, Hibernation, Celebration, Anchor OSA, and many more.

All in all a great place to pick up fine craft brews!
