Poured from a 1 liter growler into a snifter glass. Drank with my soul mate (jefe).

Appearance: Pours a deep dark caramel color with a small yet noticeable head that leaves a 1cm film of light brown/champagne head that leaves a little bit of lacing sticking to the sides of the glass.

Smell: Aromas of caramel, yeasty notes and some rum raisin notes. Not very strong on the aroma, but the belgian yeast is present. Slight hints of mocha too.

Taste: Has a distinct dark chocolate note right at the beginning. initial sweet flavors of raisins and figs. There is a definite yeasty quality to this. Alcohol is in check, not sure how high it is. Drinkable and fresh tasting. Also has a slight coffee flavor at the finish.

Mouthfeel: Heavy mouthfeel. Nothing to drink in big gulps. Very enjoyable especially with cold weather. The flavor sticks to your palate for a few minutes afterwards where the sweetness becomes prevalent.

Overall: I would order this again, mostly during the winter months. Not something i would have a few liters of but something that i would treat myself to especially if pairing with the right dish (i.e. beef stew or maybe some short ribs).

(From notes)

Pours a tawny brown color with little to no head; what is left is a thin lightly tan film across the top.

Light malty sweetness in the nose; dark grains and some yeastiness in the aroma; touch of grape as well. The dark grapes show up in the taste as well. Hints of light spices in the flavor as well, is that nutmeg? Pretty weak in the flavor, but lots of yeastiness sneaks in in an unpleasant way. MF is a bit thin and very faint carbonation. Not an awful brew, and one of the better ones from Les Brasseurs. Still nothing too interesting.
