Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma has elderflower and also some vegetal notes like chive. Taste is also really hoppy and fresh. Citrus fruits, elderflower and also some dank notes. Light body and very easy drinking. Great summer beer.

12oz glass at the Underground in DTYEG. Apparently this is 5.5% ABV on tap.

This beer appears a rather murky, dark apricot amber colour, with one fat finger of thinly foamy, and mostly wispy dirty white head, which leaves a decent array of layered webbed lace around the glass as it slowly and evenly subsides.

It smells of peppy tropical fruit (pineapple, kiwi, and guava), a bit of more pedestrian orange and white grapefruit pith, a small chalky note, gritty pale malt, and further leafy, floral, and grassy hops. The taste is grainy, bready pale and caramel malt, now muddled, yet still fresh south seas fruit (ok, pineapple core and kiwi skin), a twinge of earthy yeast, a bit of pine needle and other forest floor detritus, and plain weedy, leafy, and floral hop bitters.

The bubbles are adequate in their workaday and supportive frothiness, the body medium-light in weight, and generally smooth, the fruity nature of the hops precluding any interference here. It finishes off-dry, the same blended fruitiness keeping the lingering malt company.

A pleasant iteration in this seasonal (or two) pale ale series from Mikkeller. Same fruity deal as last time around, it would seem, but this time the fruit and the bitter work much better together, making for a simple pleasure in its end of summer pairing.

Pours almoust clear (a little hazy), golden, with a three finger high head.

Nose: Peach, pine, mango, pineapple, orange and grapefruit.
Taste: Not as good as the taste promised... Citrus, orange, pineapple and grass.
Body: Medium body and carbonation. A little waterish. Bitter finish.

I must say I'm a little dissapointed! I expected more from Mikkeller. I think the K:arlek is starting to fade out... Maybe we have grown apart :(

The colour is gold-orange (8 EBC), the liquid is clear. The two finger head is off-white and compact, it sinks slowly leaving lots of thick lacing.

The smell is semi-sweet with some caramel and hints of lactose. Bitter-tart hoppy notes of lemon-lime and fresh herbs. Fat flavours of rubber and butter.

The taste is first very bitter. Then, citric notes of orange peels, lime juice, and harsh banana peels emerges. Hints of rubber and sour fruit candy. Medium body. The aftertaste got grainy notes of … porridge and rolled oats. Some lime juice, hints of butter and lactose. The finish is short and harsh with lime and green bananas.

The carbonation is medium strong; the mid-sized bubbles are long-lived. The liquid is dry and a bit harsh.

Too much harsh tart hops in this, no balance at all. The worst K:rlek so far.
