375ml bottle.
Hazy blonde liquid with a small white head.

Nose is acetic acid, white grapes, funky, wine.

Taste is acetic acid, citric acid, citrusy, white wine, vinegary long aftertaste.

Vinous texture, it is very very delightful !! I want more bottles!!! One of the best white wine barrel I've had!

On-tap served in a stemmed glass at Mikkeller Bangkok.

Hazy golden brass color, it comes with very thick fluffy off-white head that withstands with great retention before slowly collapsing to an eternal foamy layer covering atop and leaving numerous lacing ring, patch, and spot all around.

In a nose, oh yes white grape, tart apple, sour lime, kind of fermented fruit, dried-plum, sweet apricot, cherry, acidic, funky, musty, barrel, molasses, some herb quality, bready hint, and earthiness.

Lots of thing going on in the palate sensation, solid element of white wine with no surprise which is quite dry at time, slight warming thereafter together with tart apple, sour lime, kind of fermented fruit, dried-plum, sweet apricot, cherry, acidic, funky, musty, barrel, molasses, some herb quality, bready hint, and earthiness.

Medium body with some crispness and moderate carbonation to generate lively feeling and quite smooth mouthfeel through the palate, finish is very dry.

Complex sour ale with good white wine element, the character is quite various and changing sip by sip.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty yellow color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of funky tester with some tart notes and subtle light vinous notes. Taste is a mix of tart notes with light acidic notes with some oak and some vinous notes. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation. Not bad but lacking some attenuation and carbonation which would help drink forward some of the flavours.

fashioned as an imperial berliner type, with white grapes added and aged in white wine barrels. i was excited for this one, especially given how amazing some of their other wine/beer hybrids are, but this didnt measure up to some of their best i didnt find. for one, its real sweet, almost more like a white grape juice for kids than a wine, the fruit is not fermented to dry, so the flavor is strong and the residual sugar is high, its distracting. the alcohol is also a lot here, it makes a sort of already harsh beer from sourness become harsh from booze too, its not egregious, but i dont love it. third, its very very thick in feel, almost goopy, gelatinous or something, not right for the style, all the acid, and especially without much carbonation, it doesnt quite come right for me in the feel. all that said, there is an awful lot going on in the flavor, and its a hard beer not to at least appreciate. the flavor from the wine barrels is strong and interesting, the higher wheat concentration gives it a cool earthy sweet cereal foundation, and the fruit is very distinct as well, and it all goes together pretty well with the sharp lemony bacterial acidity. a few tweaks i think away from being amazing, but i continue to appreciate these far fetched and challenging mikkeller beers...
