Pours with ample carbonation. Jet-black root beer/motor oil body with huge pumpernickel head. Carbonation progresses slowly up through the lusciously viscous liquid.
Bittersweet chocolate malt, coffee and cinnamon sugar. Smells oily with some grassy/earthy hops. Nice stuff.
Slatey, dry stout feel-bitter coffee dominates at first when cold-a little more oiliness emerges with warmth.
Drinks silky-a little more shallow than expected, though. Charred bitter notes sustain through finish. Deeper and darker with warmth.
Pleasure to drink-a little lighter than expected. Solid, well-balanced and well-constructed.

16oz can into a tall glass. Freshness dating badly smudged.
Decent look, black as black can be body with a small but persistent tan head, good lacing. Strong aroma, a little coffee and licorice. The taste follows the nose, and the licorice doesnt quite get to soy territory. Somewhat bitter roast finish. Overall, the feel is smooth as an oatmeal stout should be, but the strength of the flavors batters it down a bit.

Normally bitterness doesn't get to me. The bitterness on this thing rocked my head around in a full-360 -- Tom and Jerry style. If bitterness scares you, heed this warning. If you like coffee flavor, or coffee-flavored stouts, this beer is for you.
This pours surprisingly dark. Nearly black, with a rich head. The head isn't large, but seems full.
There is an over-powering coffee smell. Nearly smells like iced coffee.
To be honest, the flavor wasn't for me. I like my coffee black, and even this was surprising to me. It tasted extremely bitter. After about two or three sips, the bitterness mostly subsides and I can start to enjoy the nuance of the beer. Behind the bitterness is a rich, coffee flavor. Surprisingly sweet and toffee like once you are used to the bitterness. Imagine if you could accentuate the aspects of an iced coffee into almost absurd levels of overkill.
Mouth feel was similar to almost every stout. Slightly thick, but mostly a thin, watery mouth feel.
I think if you enjoy coffee, stouts, or coffee stouts then this beer is amazing. It really isn't my preferred style.

16 oz can with a 30 August 2022 canning date stamped on the bottom. Brewed in San Diego.
Appearance. Essentially black and opaque body with a good beige head.
This bold coffee stout has good balance although I'd prefer a bit lower hops/malts ratio. The coffee/stout ratio is about 50/50 in both the aroma and the flavor. Very smooth, full body that is well carbonated at a low level.

Pours a nice dark brown/black with a finger of mocha head leaving plenty residual lacing. Nose is bitter coffee, earth, chocolate, and toasted malt. Taste follows suit. Coffee doesn’t come through in a big way and the feel finished somewhat thin, overall average.

Bought at Heights Market in San Diego. 16oz can for $3.99. Canned 12/10/21, consumed as a celebratory beer 05/23/22.
A&S: Pours a solid >1 finger of chocolate-colored foamy head, dies out to a thin layer, and more so to nothing. But the head does leave nice lacing. The beer is a deep chestnut brown in color. Aroma consists of bitter coffee and dark chocolate.
T&M: More bitter than I would expect from the style. I really enjoy the taste, but doesn't seem to fit with the style. Mouthfeel is one of the major lacking components of this brew. For the style, I think it should be a little smoother with high medium to full body.
Overall: The price point is a plus.

When I picked this beer up, I totally forgot about all the bullshit that went down with Mikeller at that festival last year. I’ll give this beer a shot since I have it, but I don’t want to actually support them
Pours a very dark brown with 2 fingers of dark tan head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing
The coffee here in the nose is sweeter than expected. I’m picking up on aromas of sweetened coffee, milk chocolate, sweet vanilla, dark fruit, toffee, and a touch of earthy hops
In taste however, the coffee is much more roasty but still balanced, which I appreciate. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting dark roast coffee, cocoa powder, toffee, raisin, charred malt, and light vanilla. The swallow brings notes of cocoa powder, dark roast coffee, sweet cream, vanilla, light toast, and caramel
A medium full body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes sticky and trends sweeter after the swallow
This is pretty good, but it’s been done better. Point being, you don’t need to support Mikkeller

Look: The pour was similar to a black hole - midnight black with a centimeter length of foam risen to the surface. The foam is sticking to the glass as the foam is dying out.
Smell: Getting huge notes of coffee, chocolate, malts, maybe even some oatmeal in this too.
Taste: Sweet initial contact with flavors of coffee, big coffee and chocolate flavors in this. Very refreshing - bitter bold taste (I love coffee so this is up my alley) with a dry cocoa finish.
Feel: Light carbonation on the tongue, very smooth, easy to drink. The after taste is that of coffee.
Overall: This was a very easy to drink breakfast stout! If you're a coffee fan such as myself then this beer is up your alley too!

Look: pretty damn black, good lacing on the sides of the glass, sticks there like fungus
Smell: roast, licorice, burnt coffee, leather
Taste: soy sauce/savory, salty, coffee, dark dark chocolate, tart fruits (cherry?). bitterness common to Russian imperials. Woody, even though I know it's not barrel-aged
Feel: oily, coats the mouth well
Overall: don't feel like coffee stouts ever actually taste like coffee, maybe the coffee I drink is just too good. Bitter to a point that I don't love and is more common in Russian imperials. I'd take a KBS over this.

Look: Pitch black with a glorious looking brown head that erupts to the rim of the glass and slowly craters, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Roast, cold-brewed coffee, bready malt, earthy hop notes, and cocoa
Taste: Rich and slightly bitter dark chocolate, roast, and coffee come together and seemingly strengthen each other’s profile as they assault the palate to start. Earthiness and bread show up after the initial hit levels off and the coffee starts to stand alone in the spotlight for a moment before roast and earthiness take over as the closers
Mouthfeel: Full, very smooth throughout, medium to medium-high carbonation, and a nice, lightly dry and robust finish
Overall: I’m digging this one a lot. I had heard of this beer for over a decade but never bought it nor tried it before today and though it has the hype and allure built up in my head, it definitely delivered. An outstanding oatmeal coffee stout where everything from the roast to the chocolate to the earthy hops all come together to make a beer that is greater than the sum of its parts. Recommended

Dr8nks boozer than it's abv. Pours a deep black with a nice fluffy head although leaves fairly quickly. No real nose, lots of bitterness in the taste and a back end of pure coffee. Of this hid the booze better and maybe added some oat flake to round out the mouthfeel, I'd like a lot better. A decent stout in all, if you like coffee.
