All I really get out of this is cold, burnt coffee. Seems to taste less burnt as it warms to room temp., but it never improves. No head, not much aroma. Does taste better than cold coffee, which I attribute to the impact of the malt and alcohol, but the burnt coffee flavor overwhelms anything else that might be there.

It reminds me very much of the Founders Breakfast stout. While I might be able to tell them apart if I had them side-by-side, from memory they are the same; and I wasn't that found of the FBS either. The FBS I had was 18 months old at the time; and this one had to come all the way from Norway, so maybe these are much better fresher (yet the Mikkeller bottle has a best by 2020 date on it). I'd be happy to try one again fresh from the brewery (should I ever find myself in Norway), but I've had wonderful coffee stouts, and this isn't one of them.

it pours opaque black color with small light brown head. Retention is not strong as I expected. Foam leaves a thin cover on top.
It smells like a cup of espresso and aroma is fully dominated by coffee. Yeast, roasted malts and chocolate aromas are in background.
Taste is fairly complex and bitter. Coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, slight vanilla and lots of bittering hops.
Med-full bodied. Low carbonation. Smooth on the palate due to oatmeal. Dry and slightly warming finish.
Well made coffee beer. It deserves its popularity.

Pours opaque black with a dark tan head.
The aroma is milk chocolate, roast coffee and brown sugar.
Big roasted coffee up front with chocolate and a slightly unpleasant char. Lingering coffee and a hint of dark fruit.
Mouthfeel is medium smooth.
Good but far from my favorite coffee stout.

Sampling a cellar temp 12 oz bottle poured into my snifter.
The beer pours a deep cola brown color with tan creamy head of 1 cm that fades to a sturdy edge layer that remains through the sampling.
The aroma is roasted malt and coffee grounds and some coffee and a little bitter coffee. Dominated by coffee scents but not an overpowering aroma overall.
First sip reveals an average body with smooth texture and very mild rolling carbonation. Physical traits make this really easy to drink.
Flavor is coffee and coffee too. Strong bitter coffee with maybe a little roasted malt but almost charred wood lingering flavor. This is java black in a bottle. I dont get any hops here nor do I get any booze, which only further enhances the drinkability of this beer.
A solid, if one dimensional brew that any coffee fiend would thoroughly enjoy.

Appearance - Pours black with dark, cola brown edging and a cocoa powder colored, one finger width head. Good retention before dying down to a mostly barren surface. A small handful of tiny spots make up the lacing.

Smell - Strong coffee aroma with lesser chocolate and caramel. Creme. Roasted malt. Trace of dark, fruity sweetness.

Taste - Follows the nose. Coffee, caramel and roasted malt upfront before a bit of cream sweetness cuts in. Touch of char in the finish with a faint touch of berry tang can be found lingering in the finish amongst the roasty profile.

Mouthfeel - Near full-bodied with low carbonation. Slick, silky texture that drinks pretty nicely. slightly dry finish with a hint of booze.

Overall - One of the better Mikkeller beers I've had to date, truth be told. I don't know that I'd drop $8 for an 11.2oz bottle, but I wouldn't turn my nose up at buying the 16oz can for $5 if the mood struck me.

Pours black. A small dark brown creamy head that dissipates relatively quickly leaving a brown collar.

Aroma of coffee, very dark malts, dark fruits and burnt marshmallow.

Taste is burnt coffee, molasses, very dark chocolate. Bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and cleansing.

Overall, a decent beer. Definitely worth a try though one was enough for me.

Beer Geek Breakfast, 7.5% ABV. Pours black with a slight tan head. Nose is coffee, citrus, and chocolate. Taste is mostly strong coffee, with a slight bitter close. Excellent mouthfeel, overall excellent. I like this better than FBS since the bitterness doesn't overpower the coffee taste.

Tasted with a year of age on this one

L -- Pours a very dark black with a small capuccino-colored head produced with well-aerated pour. Minimal retention and spotty lacing
S -- Dark chocolate, candied orange peel, clementine, oats, barley, and a hint of vanilla and lactose. Perhaps the fruitiest aromas of any stout I've had
T -- Big difference between the aromas and the flavors. Smoke, charred coffee, bittersweet chocolate, herbal hoppiness, mild nuttiness, and a little booze on the backend
F -- Starts velvety and mouth-coating, finishes somewhat watery with a restrained, burnt bitterness. Medium+ mouthfeel, minimal carb
O -- My favorite breakfast stout to date. The intense smokiness in the flavors combined with the unique fruitiness in the aromas make for a very complex experience

Mikkeller 'Beer Geek Breakfast' @ 7.5% , served from a 650 ml bottle purchased for $13.50
A-pour is cola brown from the bottle to a large foam tan head in the glass , worst pouring beer ever , be warned
S-dark & roasted coffee
T-boozey , coffee bitterness lingers
MF-lots of carbonation , feels full bodied
Ov-the initial pour kinda ruined the enjoyment of this beer

Pours a pitch black color with a finger with brown foamy head. Head retention is very good as is lacing. Has a nice roasted malt and coffee aroma with some dark chocolate. Delicious taste. Roasted malts, coffee in the front and smoother chocolate at the end. Silky smooth. Heavy bodied with moderate carbonation.

Amazing flavour, especially as it warms. Chocolate and coffee with a building leathery noted and slickness. Carb was too high and foamed too much on the pour. Mouthfeel was a quite prickly but letting it warm also calmed down the carb. Excellent

Way too foamy, terrible pour. Can't judge look accurately. Thick, syrupy, opaque. I'm eating all this foam with a spoon and it is marshmallowy goodness. Straight Edge friend refuses to smell or break his fast. Hints of nut: acorn and lug. Earth and loam. Mulch and peat. Coffee and muffins at the end.

On to the taste. Venti frappuccino- VERY frappuccino. Charcoal and triple digit brew. "Too dark for me man," says other friend. Malt and SWEETNESS but with a nice amount of water and thinness on the end. I would pair with breakfast sandwich, toast, pancakes? Bacon is questionable.

Drink too many of these you'll be geekin' all the way to work! You'll be loggin on to Friendster in 2.5 seconds. I would not recommend housing a sixer of these, but drink one of these when your significant makes breakfast for dinner. Perfect for when you break your non-denominational religious fast and start a big breakfast FEAST!

.......KNOCK IT BACK!!!!
