Moderately hazy amber colour with a big, creamy tan head. Good head retention and lots of lacing. Good.

Bright and hoppy. Surprisingly smooth for a C-hop with a rounded orange and mandarin note. Light mango. Very nice.

As in the aroma this is smooth and creamy with a citrussy palate. Nice rounded tropical fruit and mandarin notes. Moderate bitterness.

Medium body with moderately low carbonation. Fine.

A really nice IPA that shows off Centennial in a non-aggressive way.

Slightly hazy amber, an off-white rather small head, some lacing and some curtains.

The smell has a whiff of toffee, but mainly grape-fruit, pine and resin.

The taste has a sweet caramel start, fresh bread, grape-fruit juice, then a seed and peel bitterness.

Medium carbonation, small bubbles, a good body, slightly dry.

A rather nice, well-balanced, clean and good american IPA, especially for being a single hop.

Thanks to Dee at Bobby's Liquors for suggesting this one!
Poured from the 11.2-oz bottle into a tulip.

A: Orange like copper body with prolific off-white, soap-foam head. A decent amount of sediment in the body.

N: Lots of grapefruit and a hint of pine.

T/M: This one has a great bitterness to it with a delightful hit of grapefruit that gives way to earthy pine flavors. The malt compliments this IPA better than it does others in the Single-Hop series. There is a slight soapy flavor to the beer and I am not sure where it comes from. The body is medium/light.

Overall, I really like this beer. I am stoked that I am currently growing my own Centennial hops so that I can feature them in an awesome IPA this year.

Yeah, yeah, yeah... I know... It's old. But it's been in my fridge for over 2 years. (first batch)

A: Pours out a perfect amber with one full finger of off-white head. The foam takes a bit of time to settle, and there is a decent amount of lacing as it drinks.

S: The nose is really malty with a soft floral undertone and a touch of pine hops in the background.

T: It starts out sweet and floral and those flavors linger all the way through to the finish. The back end is big pine bitters.

M: Medium bodied beer. There is nothing too outrageous as the flavors dance on the palate, but it dries up significantly as the beer moves off. The bitters linger of a bit afterward.

O: This is a really nice single hop beer. I'm loving the mix of floral and malt characteristics. The finish is really bitter, but I'm ok with it. Solid beer, even with age on it.

Another down in the single hop series. Poured in a Bruery chalice.

Body is amber. Poured slowly and carefully, this produced a big tan head and has good retention and lacing.

Nose is quite fruity, mainly notes of orange, a hint of mint, floating above the usual malt notes.

Nice light, fresh fruit notes of orange and lemon on the frontpalate, with some malt sweetness midpalate, then a big piney, bitter hop finish. The bitterness lasts awhile in the long finish. It is interesting that Centennial can do all this on its own.

Body is medium as is the carbonation producing a slightly fizzy/slightly creamy mouthfeel. Finish is somewhat dry.

This is one of the highlights in the series that shows what Centennial can accomplish in a beer. Interesting and very drinkable.

11.2 oz. bottle poured into a tulip glass.

Appearance-Reddish-copper in color with a tall, densely packed, beige head with tiny bubbles. Head retention is high with nice lacing, and the clarity is moderately high as well-perhaps just a bit of chill haze.

Aroma-The aroma hopping is somewhat disappointingly light, but what is there is complex and quite elegant. Perfumy lemon, orange, and pine notes. Lower notes of pineapple and other tropical fruit. Malt is almost non-existant in the aroma, but I'm not complaining too much. I just wish there was a bolder aroma to it.

Flavor-Here's the bold hop character I'm looking for. Lightly fruity with orange and lemon up front, before bursts of pine and resin punch in with moderately high hop bitterness. Dry in the finish, with a touch of lemongrass to compliment the pine notes.

Mouthfeel-Medium body with moderate carbonation.Dry bitterness and a touch of warmth linger on the palate, but there's no astringency in the mouthfeel at all.

As I said above, I'm a little disappointed with how low the aroma is on this one, but everything else is in place, and it tastes great.

A: dark orange/amber color, huge thick foamy head--sort of like a rootbeer float. great lacing!

S: citrus hops, a lot of malt, melon/bitter apple

T: great balance of flavor, fruity malt, piney hops towards the end

M: nice carbonation level, smooth on the palette, dry finish, great mouthfeel

I really enjoyed this beer. it might not be hoppy enough for some, but I enjoyed the balanced, malty taste.

tulip glass.

a - pours a cloudy, orange color with lots of yeast still in suspension. gave me a huge, three finger, rocky, tan head that calmed to a thin cap and stayed put. leaves intricate lacing patterns stuck to the sides of the glass that range from small puffs at the top to a full sheet at the bottom.

s - flowery and slightly spicy. notes of sour apple and carmel.

t - subdued herbal hop character with lighter fruity notes. lemon, green apple, maybe some grape. biscuity malt base. tart but still sweet. light bitterness carries through into the finish and fades away slowly.

m - firmly medium in body with a good amount of carbonation. feels just right for this brew.

o - a fine beer and quite enjoyable. maybe my second favorite out of the series so far. if it weren't $6 a bottle, i'd buy this often.

11.2 oz. bottle poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint Glass. Good looking beer comes out an amber/brown/orange color. A little hazy, slightly hazier than the other Mikkeller Single Hop beers I've had, lots of little particles floating around. HUGE foamy head after a hard pour. Big bubbles in the head that take their time, but eventually most go away, good lacing. A good looking IPA.

Smell is good. Not as aggressively hoppy as I expected, but well balanced in the aromas. Citrus is the big hop aroma here, primarily citrus zest. Good malt backbone sort of a natural sweetness to it, slightly roasted/toasty flavors.

Taste is very good, not too many surprises here, exactly on par with the smells. Grapefruit sticks out a little more, citrus bitterness and a hint of sweetness like a clementine. Good toasted malt backbone in the flavor as well.

Moutfeel is really good. Smoother and cleaner feel than I expected, it goes down really easy, surprising since it didn't appear filtered. Has a nice bitter finish as well. This beer is very drinkable too. Probably my favorite Single Hop beer from Mikkeller thus far, but I have a few more to go.
