Draft pint. Opaque blonde with light head and small carbonation. Fragrant piney taste. Enjoyable bold hops flavors come to fore. Dry mouthfeel with light resign on the tongue. Pleasant and tasty pale ale.

darker golden orange, tons of head on the pour. nice retention and excellent lacing.
nose is mostly floral upon cracking the can, in the glass im getting pine, yeast and light floral notes with a touch of malt.
hoppy orange/ citrus zest up front, good malt presence is very complimentary. quite a nice dry fish on this, and mouthfeel is right on. something about this tastes fundamental different from what im used to drinking, maybe its the yeast?
living in VT and having access to pale ales from the likes of HF, Trillium, ect... ive put off trying Mikkeller for some time, but today I picked up a few of their hoppy ales. after drinking this one I definitely wont overlook Mikkeller again, unique and quality stuff!

listed as an American pale ale, I thought this one was as much Belgian as American, at least insofar as the yeast is concerned. not a real fruity or spicy strain, but definitely more than the flavorless cali types used in American pale ales. it adds a little punch and life to the hops, which are well dosed in this one for sure. a really splendid pale ale overall, easy drinking and insanely flavorful, but still low enough on the bitterness to not go anywhere near the ipa range. nice orange color to it, and a short lived half inch of white fluff is all on top. smells like grapefruit and pineapple and pine, a really nice diverse mix of hop characteristics going on, united by this mild Belgian yeast. the grain has to have a little darker malt in it, maybe some 60 crystal or something, but its more colorful than flavorful here, and it ends up being freakishly dry on the back end, especially for this juicy tropical orangey fruity hopping going on right until the end. well carbonated and very refreshing overall. when I think about pale ale as a style, unless its from one of the big boys in Vermont, its hard to get too excited about it, but mikkeller has refined it to an exceptional degree here, and I wish they sold this in six packs. I would absolutely buy it on the regular. for a basic style, this is outstanding.
