This beer poured out as a murky copper color. The head was thin and white, leaves a thin wispy lacing on the glass. The smell isn't overly hoppy, you can tell it's an ipa but it's not excessively floral or citrusy. The taste has the floral citrusy bite to it. Very good flavor profile. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and kind of on the creamy side. Overall it's a solid ipa in my opinion. Glad I got to try it.

a great great ipa, very signature mikkeller. the pour is a little cloudy with a few fingers of tanish head. the body is like unfiltered apple cider, more red than orange, but kind of dull. the nose is amazing, this beers best feature. there is some belgian yeast and a light fruity character, but this is all about the hops. pine meets grapefruit right in the middle, and much oil and resin is retained in the nose and taste. these are fresh and delicious hops, robust and bitter. long lasting bitter finish. mikkeller always pulls out another level of bitterness beyond so many american brewers. im not sure the secret, but this beer is another lovely illustration that bitter and fresh can indeed go together. a little light on the carbonation, this beer has a very soft feel. i liked it a lot and at 7% abv it felt just right to me. wish it was more affordable and more widely available, i could drink this every day.

edit: I just had this is green easter, not knowing that the two were the same when I bought it. not sure if the easter was fresher or what, but it seemed like an even better version of this. I highly recommend this if you can get it fresh, its really fantastic.

edit: just had a real old bottle of green easter and it was rough. a total yeast mess, huge and chunky and nothing left but bitter. man did this fall off. avoid if not fresh!

This is the last of the Mikkeller's I had on Mikkeller IPA night.

Appearance: A dark fairly opaque ruby orange hue with a big frothy off-white head, good retention, and good lacing.

Smell: Subtle citrus smell, a fair amount of light hops, a touch of booze, and a fair amount of aromatic hops. Pretty much the same rating I gave to I beat you IPA.

Taste: Some hops bitterness, a slight syrup presence. A touch of floral notes and caramel. Very simple and subtle.

Mouthfeel: Quite syrupy. A medium body with decent carbonation.

Drinkability: Honestly this was like a slight downgrade from the I beat you IPA.

A: Orange and brown in color with a cream colred head. Head is thick and pours at least a couple of fingers. Head lingers well - still has a top 30+ minutes after pour and thick lacing on the glass walls.

S: Over the top grass and pine hops. It catches you off guard up front but is a really nice twist on the aroma.

T: Good quality hop flavor - again grassy, earthy hops forward, with a bit of a malt balance on the back.

M: Medium body but really nice on the tongue - ample carbonation.

O: Really well done. Hope to find this one again. Would love to have really, really fresh but suspect this at least a couple of months old by the time it reached the states.
