Poured in to a pint glass

A: This beer pours a deep, dark, opaque chocolate brown with a 1/4 inch of medium brown head. Head recedes immediately leaving spots of lacing on the glass.

S: Nose is viscious! Licorice, prunes, wood, charred malts, and vanilla.

T: Taste starts with a strong coffee, and vicious charred malt flavoring - light alcohol is present. Prunes come through with a milk chocolate sweetness that really fills out and cuts the sharp charred malt flavoring. Finish has a complimentary woody vanilla flavoring.

M: Full bodied, low carbonation, thick and creamy.

D: Goes down easily, filling, big kick, great representation of style - this is a nice beer to have a pint of.

Black with a great tan and extremely creamy head.

Very strong scents of coffee and cocoa in perfect harmony. I reminded me of tiramisu.

Amazing flavor of sweet chocolate and espresso witha touch of cinnamon. Slightly bitter finish, but more of a chocolate bitter than a burnt bitter. The aftertaste is a lingering sweetness.

Spot on mouthfeel, silky and smooth. The alcohol is present, as it should be, yet maintains a smooth quality. The entire beer is great, but the mouthfeel is my favorite aspect of it.

This is one of the more impressive Imperial Stouts out there and by far the most impressive beer I've had in a while. The only unfortunate part about it is the price tag, otherwise this holds it's own against with the rest of the best.

Delivered on all counts! Poured from 12 oz. bottle into tulip. Leaves a thick light brown head that lingers awhile over a sharp and deep black. Tons of roasted coffee in the aroma. The taste gives more hop bitterness than I expected, and its an incredible balance with all the power coffee/molasses flavors going on.

From notes.

Thanks to drseamus for sharing quite a while ago now.

A: Nice dark beer. Almost jet black. Coffee colored head. The beer poured like motor oil from the bottle.

S: Out of this world. One of the best smelling stouts ever. MASSIVE coffee nose. Not just coffee but the best smelling coffee ever and I am not even a coffee drinker. Quite a bit of chocolate in there as well. A touch of roast. But this is all about the coffee.

T: Wow. Massive coffee in the flavor as well. More chocolate that in the nose. As balanced as a beer can be with the super intense flavors here.

M: Super smooth. A little bit creamy but not as thick as you would think it would be. Which is a good thing and a bad thing. If anything a little bit more richness in the body would not hurt. That being said it was velvetty in my mouth.

D: Wow. Beer geek breakfast was a great beer and this took it to the next level. The price is high but it is a really nice treat every once in a while.
