330ml bottle poured into a couple small sampler glasses.

Pours black with a small, late blooming brown head. Head mostly fades quickly. Looks viscous as all hell. Smell is surprisingly muted (but it's coldish). I smell primarily coffee, a little smokey roastiness. Some slight fruitiness.

Taste brings out a lot more fruitiness. Cherry flavor is definitely there, lots of coffee flavor of course. Maybe some black licorice, some nearly burnt roasty flavor.

Mouthfeel is actually really nice. Thick, but surprisingly effervescent. Overall, this beer is decadent. Very nice.

11.2 oz bottle pured into a tulip

A- Black with a small mocha head.

S- Roasted coffee, espresso, bitter sweet chocolate, touch of vanilla.

T- Roasted coffee, espresso, big chocolate flavor, touch of hops, flavor are big and great, coffee has a nice bitter kick in the finish but it isn't too bitter.

M- Smooth, creamy, medium to full body.

O- Very happy I could pick this up, it is a solid coffee stout, alcohol is well hidden.

Savored in Max's Taphouse in Fell's Point with Blind Man Nikos whilst my wife enjoyed a baby shower.

Twas the weekend before Christmas, and all through the taphaus
Not a ray of light penetrated the snifter, and that's about as far as this poem goes.

Beautiful midnight black coloration with brown only visible in the dense head and around the edges. Wafts wonderfully. Tastes of booze, vanilla, and deep, rich malts fill my satisfied mouth. Mouthfeel is rich, lovely, inviting.

An ideal stout for the last, cold days of Advent.
