Best before 19.05.25.

Pours a very dark brown body with a healthy head. Aroma reminds me of fresh ground coffee. Flavor has less coffee but more of a milky chocolate taste but finishes with bitter oats. Gets better as it warms but i prefer my stouts with more smoothness.

Second stout from mikkeller.

This beer pours like olive oil into the glass with a deep red/brown head that barely hits a half inch. Tight carbonation that isn't excessive.

Smell is nutty, little bitter chocolate.

The taste is out of this world. Malt and bitter chocolate fade into a super robust and balanced black coffee booze heaven. The taste is a 6/5 and overcomes the slightly boring smell to make this beer perfect to me.

Just amazing. Glad I have two more!!

Pitch black pour, thick as hell, with a short-lived espresso-coloured head. Smells of dark chocolate, cocoa, dark cherries and a bit of vanilla. Tastes like sherry truffles, dark chocolate, coffee and dried fruit. An excellent stout.

Pours an opaque dark almost black color with khaki colored head. Coffee, roasted coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, and some vanilla on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied and rich, alcohol is hidden very well, also very smooth. Finishes with coffee and chocolate.

A- Pitch black with a thin tan head fading to a persistent ring. Slight lacing.

S- Burnt coffee, highly roasted malts, cigarette ash, chocolate. Complex smell.

T- Strong burnt coffee and sweet black licorice. The roasted maltiness is there also. Bitter hops come through in the finish. Alcohol well hidden.

M- Medium body and smooth. A lighter mouth than expected.

O- Another great stout from the "beer geek" series. Glad I tried it.

Dark, black inch-thick head.

Smells like coffee at first followed by burnt caramel and dark chocolate. The taste is sweet and coffee-bitter. You can definitely smell the alcohol. Mouthfeel very smooth.

Weasel Shit. Mmmmmmm. Dark black color, thick light brown head that fades. Aroma is dark coffee, very nice, but I expected stronger more pungent. Taste is coffee, vanilla, sour fruit late, raspberry, plum, fig. Interesting beer.

Thanks to Dave for sharing the bottle.

From cervezasespeciales. In Teku glass. Playing Legend of Grimrock 2. Alcohol perflectly hidden. Nice aroma, taste and feel. No need to worry about the weasel dropings this is made from. It doesnt stink at all but the contrary

Pours black with a tan head, about one fingers worth. Smells like coffee at first followed by oats and chocolate. You can also get a hint of alcohol the warmer it gets. The taste is sweet, very smooth, and a bit boozy at the end. As the beer warms the flavors come out more pronounced, chocolate, coffee, and oats. A very wonderful beer!

I picked up a bottle of Mikkeller's Beer Geek Brunch Weasel a couple weeks ago at the lager, I've been wanting to try this beer for a long time and this will be my first time having a beer from Mikkeller, so lets see how it goes. 2015 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a teku.

A- The label looks nice, it goes well with the name and it's a little eye catching. It poured a dark black color that didn't let any light come through and it had around a half a fingers worth of dark tan head that eventually faded away and it left some spotty lacing behind. This is a good looking stout, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with a unique fruity aroma being the first to show up and it imparts a mixture of berrys and dark fruit like aromas. Up next comes the coffee which is a little lighter than I expected. Towards the end I get some sweet malt aromas with some creamy aspects to it with some slightly charred and light smokey aromas showing up in the background. This beer has a pretty nice aroma, but the fruitiness holds back the coffee a little.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness that's almost highly sweet with the coffee being the first to show and it has a nice black coffee and roasted flavor and it has just a little bit of an espresso like flavor. Up next comes the malts which impart some sweet malt flavors with the same smokey and charred aspects that I got in the aroma. Up next comes the alcohol which is pretty noticeable and I think it could have been hidden better. On the finish there's a slightly higher amount of medium bitterness with a little more alcohol and rich chocolate and cocoa like aftertaste. This is a pretty nice tasting beer, but I do think it's a little rough around the edges.

M- Not the smoothest, a little crisp, a little creamy, the alcohol could have been hidden a little better, on the lighter side of being full bodied with a slightly lower amount of medium carbonation. The mouthfeel was pretty nice, but I think it could have been a little smoother.

Overall I thought this was a pretty nice beer and a nice example of the style, but it just wasn't as great as I thought it might be, it's not bad by any means, but it just doesn't have anything that makes it really stick out as being better than the rest. This beer had ok drinkability, one is enough for me, anymore would be too much. What I like the most about this beer is the appearance and rich coffee flavors, those were both pretty good. What I liked the least about this beer is the fruity aspect and the boozyness, those could use a little work. I don't think I would buy this again, but I wouldn't turn one down, and while it's worth checking out if you really like the style, I can't say that I highly recommend it. All in all I was little let down with this beer, it wasn't bad, but it just didn't come together as well as I was hoping. It made for an ok first impression for Mikkeller and its it's a little above average for the style. Nice job guys, but a little smoothing out and this could be a very nice beer.

A: [4.50] The beer looks jet black in the glass. It pours out with 1/2 finger of dense mocha head. The head has lots of staying power. The bottle lists the ABV (10.9%). The cap has something like a date code - but it means nothing to me.

S: [3.25] Slightly boozy, dates, plums, cocoa and hints of coffee.

T: [3.50] Much sweeter than I expected. I get Sugary sweetness, hints of dark fruits, almost totally hidden chocolate and coffee notes. It is a bit boozy at the start.

M: [4.25] It is slightly dry, with low carbonation. The beer has a heavy body that coats the tongue.

O: [3.50] I expected this to be more coffee forward. Coffee was about 4th or 5th in line. I got predominately dark fruits on the nose and in the taste. The alcohol is present but not distracting. The mouthfeel is quite slick and nice. Overall I feel that this one doesn't deliver on what I expect from a stout with coffee.

The second you smell this beer you know you've got something special on your hands. Lots of roasty coffee and chocolate jump out at you. The first sip unveils a slightly sweet coffee, a fine example of Vietnamese coffee, before roasted chocolate malts meld near perfectly with the coffee, bringing on a clean roasted coffee finish that is nice and bitter, but retains a slight bit of sweetness throughout. The mouthfeel is perhaps the best I've encountered in an imperial stout so far. Chewy, almost viscous, and mouth coating with a beautifully creamy finish on your mouth. Silky smooth yet so full in body. My first mikkeller beer, but many many more to come.

Split between two samplers from a 12 oz bottle. I think I might have got this from the always generous snaotheus.

Color is dark brown with a thick mocha head and some nice lacing. Smell is coffee, lots of it, with some roasted malts and a bit of anise and dark fruits - pretty nice. Flavor is like a mocha - chocolate and coffee - with a bit of booze. Body is full with moderate carbonation - very creamy and rich. Overall, a very good stout.

12oz bottle into my Duvel tulip.

This brew pours a beautiful opaque black with a lingering ring of coffee-colored lace that follows it down. To me, the nose is pungently boozy - but still enticing.
The palate is not at all what was expected. Labeled as an oatmeal/coffee Stout, I was expecting those to be more dominant components. What wound up being the star was massively bitter chocolate, tempered neatly by a rich, dark coffee quality. There was also a lingering berry note that was both tart & candied at the same time. As the beer warmed, I found this to be almost a medicinal flavor.
The feel was where more of an oatmeal thing came into play. This brew is absurdly creamy & rich. I had described it as OB Ten Fidy with pillows. Very, very full body with delicate, small bubbles that add an extra dimension to the overall effect.

This brew is far above & beyond my expectations.

Look: Black, no visibility through this beer, the head was very small and dissipated within minutes. 4
Smell: Lots of oats, hints of chocolate, a ton of coffee, some malts, no alcohol. 4.25
Taste: Lots of coffee, but it is not overpowering like a victory, the coffee leads into a thick chocolate flavor, and lots of oats, then finishes with a nice subtle coffee after taste, with hints of burnt malt. 4.75
Feel: damn this is a thick one, I couldn't believe how thick, creamy and awesome this was, one of the best feels no doubt. 5
Overall: outstanding, a must try, and one I will definitely be getting again. 4.75

Bottle of unknown age split into a shaker pint. Nose was boozy, and the coffee notes seemed burnt. Taste was good, but the coffee profile seemed off. Perhaps I'd have enjoyed this more with some vanilla, as I really preferred the Vanilla Shake to this. Good appearance and mouthfeel, but I won't be buying again.

Pours a deep dark chocolate, has aroma of coffee, chocolate, & a strong boozy note. Flavor follows aroma and seems a bit unbalanced between the flavors. A little bit of a warm mouthfeel from the alcohol. Solid beer overall but needs some work

12 oz bottle. Pours almost jet black with two finger khaki head, fades slowly to a thin full layer, lots of lace. Aroma is ridiculous coffee and sweet slightly burnt sugar. Taste starts off with a little sweet chocolate which is immediately met by deep rich espresso, it's like chewing on a coffee bean. The flavor finishes semi dry with a nice bitterness, seems like this is a combination of coffee bitterness and some hops, with a tinge of burnt notes. The mouthfeel is super soft and thick. Overall excellent coffee stout, one of the best I've had so far.

11.5 oz bottle poured into my Solemn Oath snifter.

Look -- Asphalt black/ brown. Rich brown head that starts out about the width of your finger. Settles into nice lacing on top. Not much left on the sides of my glass.
Smell - Coffee. Coffee. Coffee.
Taste - Oatmeal, rich roasted coffee. Slight on the booze/
Feel - Oh, so creamy. Smooth creaminess coats the tongue .
Overall - I loved this. The price point will make this more of a treat when I see it, as opposed to a must buy everytime. It will be so worth it when I do.

Poured pitch black, one finger of light brown head that turned in to an oily coating. Smell is straightforward coffee. Taste is coffee and roast, a hint of vanilla. Feel is decently thick and a lot of viscosity going down.

I had this after the Beer Geek Breakfast -- to me this is literally an imperial version of that beer.

Poured from a bottle (11.2 oz) into a goblet.

Thick black pour. One finger of cafe au lait colored foam. Nose is coffee, coffee, coffee.

The first thing that impresses you on the first sip is the mouthfeel. Rich, thick, and viscous. Slightly oily. The coffee flavor is so rich and vibrant, I want to gargle with it.

Flavor is dried stone fruits, heavy cocoa, and roasted coffee beans on the finish. Perfect bitterness. There is definitely hints of booze at 10.9% ABV, but it's welcome considering the richness, and hey we're drinking beer, right? It's drinkable and I want more.

I've been working my way through the "Beer Geek" series and this might be staking it's claim at #1.

Pours a solid black with a medium coffee and roast nose. Smooth coffee body with light roastiness and it hides the ABV really well compared to Vanilla Shake.

This imperial stout is a really good choice if you enjoy coffee flavored beers. It is not overpowering like mocha Wednesday by the Bruery but rather subtle coffee taste.

Mikkeller is not easy to come by in the States, but the Danish seem to know what they are doing. I tried this beer in the summer of 2015 along with BOMB! Although not the most fitting for a hot summer day in Chicago, Beer Geek Brunch Weasel is an animal of its own. Extremely dark, rich, and overpowering. Keep a watch for this beer
