Orange colored ipa. 1/2" white head. Not a lot going for it aroma wise.
Taste also is minimized, the nugget hop (which I grow) is very pungent but this one doesn't come through in terms of aromatics, bitterness or flavor. I guess bitterness is most pronounced of the three. Malt kept in the background for the most part to give the hop a showcase.
The price for a 12oz bottle is almost what you'd pay for a 6 pack of better hoppier beer (SNPA), so this is a decent beer that is a no go for me.

Bottle snagged from an Edmonton liquor store, poured into a standard ol' pub glass. Curious to see how this old school, grassy/herbal, likely on the way out hop variety comes across in one of these malt-forward Mikkeller concoctions. Brew is quite dark, a ruddy brown amber with around a half inch of creamy beige foam that leaves a thick residue on the glass like a half-consumed milkshake. Aroma is sweetly malty like most other Mikkeller single hops, toffee and a hint of chocolate although there is also an assertive herbal hop note, flowers and pine with faint tangerine. Smells cleanly bitter. People seem to taste all kinds of different stuff in this one and I am getting more citrus than on the nose, predominantly lemon I'd say, chamomile tea, underripe plum, fresh bitter herbs. Not super piney or fruity as one might expect, with a nice clean bitterness. Thick bodied with a pleasant malty toast and cereal backdrop. The tea-like green bitterness builds up nicely and near the end I am wanting a second. Not bad for such a workmanlike non-sexy hop. Almost getting a ginger-like floral spicy heat in the finish. The malts are intrusive, a little, but not overly so. My expectations were not that high and this exceeded them handily. Try to appreciate the traditional flavors.
