Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

A- pours a lovely orange/amber shade with a 2 finger, very bubbly and foamy head. Lacing is OK, nothing amazing

S- sicky sweet hops...mostly tropical fruits. Getting a good bit of mango out of it. May be too much.

T- oh yeah, way too sickly sweet. So overwhelming...mangoes, and other tropical fruits complete dominate. There almost seems to be a little smokiness to it too...its way too much.

M- the feel is dominated by the flavor, and I can't get much of a body out of it. What I do get is decent.

D- no. not drinkable at all. The flavors are just so strong...this is the definition of an ultimate sipper. Completely overbearing

330ml bottle. Haven't had one of these single-hop dealios from Mikkeller in a while, though it is admittedly hard to keep track of them, oh, wait, right.

This beer pours a glassy, medium copper amber hue, with three fingers of puffy, tightly foamy, and eventually a tad creamy tan head, which leaves some stellar webbed lace around the glass as it evenly subsides.

It smells of crackery caramel malt, butterscotch, pine resin, bitter orange rind, a muddled berry fruitiness, and further floral, mildly perfumed hops. The taste is bready caramel malt, toasty toffee, pleasant citrus flesh notes, lesser piney, leafy wet forest astringencies, more semi-sweet dark berries, and herbal, leafy, and floral hops.

The carbonation is quite subtle and enjoyably frothy, the body a sturdy medium weight, and plainly smooth, the alcohol inching in, bit by bit. It finishes well off-dry, the various caramel malt incarnations doing well to persist, alongside the more fruity, rather than bitter, side of the Chinook hop varietal.

Another decently rendered single-hop affair, where the hop in question seems more than capable of carrying the day, and the beer as a whole. Citrusy, and with enough flora backup singers to effect the sense of complexity that I'm grokking here. Good stuff - I guess my takeaway here is that I like Chinook hops!
