Chinese gold and filtered with a little champagne like carbonation. Topped with 3 fingers of off white head.

Smells of a tart, lemon like quality, Brett, really floral and fruity. The floral qualities are fresh and aromatic, like a flowering field in spring. Lemon zest, and a very strong air freshener like quality, and dill.

Sweet, Bretty, pears, yellow jello, and finishes with a big, dull bitterness. Barnyard funk and horse blanket. Hints of woodiness as well.

Thick and syrupy body, and very little carbonation, even flat.

Got and drank in Chiang Mai, November 1st, 2017. So glad to have found the style again after so many years. I feel like its under carbonated for the style, and a little syrupy. The taste is great, just a little strange in the bitterness. Smells great.

Reviewed from notes. Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a Cigar City Brewing goblet.

A: Dark gold, and somewhere between very hazy and murky. Quite a bit of visible carbonation, and a finger's worth of off-white head that lasts.

S: Citrus, melon and tropical fruit hops over a white wine vinous character. Mild tartness, biscuit malts, and a dryness that I would attribute to tannins. A decent enough aroma, though not huge.

T: Tart and funky Brettanomyces. Citric acid, more white wine, and oaky tannins. This stays fairly dry, then citrus and tropical fruity bitterness from the hops. A biscuity malt body throughout. Some more earthy Brett funk with dry vinous character in the hang as the grapefruit rind fades.

M: A crisp and fairly light body. Good carbonation sensation, and the alcohol is noticeable but seems integrated into flavors.

O: This was tasty and a little different, with the wine with hops on top of Brett. I found it a little overly acidic to be any sort of a regular drinker. But definitely a nice funk and hop balance.

A corked and caged 750ml bottle with no best by or bottled on date (it might have been on the cap but rubbed off) and poured into a Lindemans flute glass.

Appearance: It poured a very nice clear deep copper colour with a one finger off white head that had decent retention and left nice lacing.

Aroma: Grape, white wine, oak and brett.

Taste: Similar to the aroma. Grape, white wine, oak, brett, apple cider and a hint of tropical stone fruit. Lightly sweet and sour on the finish.

Mouthfeel: Dry, medium bodied, moderate carbonation and sporadic light warming alcohol.

Overall: Very nice. A top Mikkeller beer and this is right on the fence of a buy beer and a must buy beer.
