Wheat Is the New Hops Mikkeller/Grassroots

A: Honey gold color, great head retention that seems to last forever, two fingers worth of foam
S: Wheat and mosaic hops, smells like a DIPA, piney
T: Citrus, lemon, slight funk undertone that stays on the aftertaste, hoppy, some malt backbone as well
M: Light to medium thickness but goes down smooth, medium carbonation
O: A good refreshing beer all around. Looks good, smells good, tastes good, drinks good. I like it

Look: Pale gold in color and quite hazy.... as expected (wheat beer). 3 finger head after pouring form a 12oz bottle. Mighty active with steady streams of larger bubbles. Frothy lace sticks to the side after the head starts to recede.
Smell: Smells of hops, buscuits, and wheat. Slightly funky and citrusy. Smells like a Belgian IPA / White IPA.
Taste: Not tons of bitterness form the hops, but there's a nice bite to it. It leads right into spices and pine. Bitterness fades out and in comes citrus (orange, lemon, pineapple, mango) and malted sweetness. Dries out and hops seem to come back in with some bitterness and pine (citra perhaps?).
Feel: Feels fuller bodied than I expectted for an IPA. Medium / Full - right on the line.
Overall: Like this one. Reminds me of Belgian IPAs - Hoppy, piney, and citrusy. Brett adds some nice funk and tartness here.

Well done. Earthy and funky from the Brett. Citrusy with a dry finish.

On-tap served in a stemmed glass at Mikkeller Bangkok.

Hazy golden yellow in color, it tops with one finger of fluffy white head with decent retention. The head dissipates to some bubble sheet atop and leaves plenty of lacing patch and spot along the way.

Brett in a nose, as well as funky, earthy, grassy, citrus, lime, malt with touch of bread, sweet, and caramel.

It kicks off with bready and powdery malt as a foundation before brett, grass, earthiness, and funkiness find the way to approach the taste buds. Fruity hop nicely participates with its grapefruit and lemon while moderate bitterness draws in at the finish and leaves long aftertaste.

Medium body with smooth mouthfeel from its lively carbonation, the feeling is crisp and refreshing. Finish is dry. Good wheat IPA with a twist of brettanomyces, worthy, grab it if you pass by.

Slightly tarte, lemon, citrus peel, grapefruit, wheat, earth, grassy notes, hint of pine, slight funk going on. Overall enjoyable but nothing special.

Tall can 26/08/16 on the bottom

Pours turbid, dull tanderine, frothy off white head, leaving nice looking strands of fine lacing...lots of yeasty floaties doing their thing...

Zesty, tangy and yes, funky nose with some barnyard coming to mind...nice a beer with Brett, where you can actually taste some brett characteristics..

Delicious, spicy, tropical, funky, barnyardy, zesty, hoppy....complex - a must buy if you see it and you like the style and also like Brett spiked beers....

500ml can from Boise Co-op. Pale golden, slight haze, abundant head, pretty tight. Tasting blind I would not guess IPA. Citrus, lemon aroma. Taste is a bit more tangy, slight hop bitterness, almost a hopped witbier. Second whiff is grainy, bready. Mildly dry. Bits of a golden, wit. Belgian pale all rolled into one.

On tap at York River Landing.
Hazy gold color Small white head and a bit of lace.
Wonderful aroma of tropical fruit and funk.
Taste not quite as nice as the nose promised, but still great. Melon, kiwi, funk.
Medium-bodied, easy to drink.

Straw tinted with green, touched with a light haze, little carbonation, and 4 fingers of yellowish head. Leaves a random, melting snowman lace.

Brett on the nose, hops almost like mosaic in that they are very berry like. Blueberries, a hint of Belgian phenols as well.

Wow. Brett and blueberries, pine, pineapple jello.

Medium light body, lightly sweet but with a tannic tea like dryness as well. Little carbonation.

Got at Beer Lab. Loving this one, Orval like in the Brett, but will an herbal hopping and berry fruitiness all packed in one.

BB 08/2017. Served cold in a teku

Love seeing funky beer in cans, especially 16oz ones. Beer poured out a very hazy golden color. There was quite a few suspended and floating chunks of sediment in the glass, no problem at all. Sticky white fluffy head from the Brett. Nosee is crazy tropical. Mango, pineapple, citrus, passionfuit, guava, tangerine, kiwi, Brett funk in the end. Taste follows the nose but with some dankness and more Brett funk. The tropical fruit cates through. Very dry mouthfeel and lingering bitterness. Very delicious.

The aroma is the best thing here- lots going on: bread dough, fruit, hops, candy, vinegar; all over the board, but nice. Flavor loses almost all of the hop flavor, though there's good bitter. Nice balance amongst everything. Very drinkable, even if I think this one's a tad old.
