Wow! Was really blown away by the aroma and flavor of this brilliant IPA.. If you like your ale hazy and orange with flavor for days than this is for you the initial smell is all citrus zest and the beginning is Orange and moves to grapefruit and grass right to a prefect palette drying bitterness that begs for another drink and at 8%abv you don't even notice the alcohol.. Ipa's are a really diverse style but if your looking for fruity refreshing bitterness then try this if you can find it... the version I had was bottled in Alaska...Although slightly pricy I will buy it every time I see it..

Outstanding beer, like everything that comes from Anchorage. Straw yellow with some slight haze. THE SMELL!! Smell is outrageously funky and wonderful. Tons of citrus, and farmy funk. Taste is much of the same, with a great dry, bitter hop finish. Could drink everyday.

A 750ml caged and corked bottle from Batch #4, bottled in October 2015. Poured into a Mikkeller long stemmed tulip glass.

Appearance: It poured a cloudy golden straw yellow colour with a two finger white head with good retention and left great lacing.

Aroma: Big juicy tropical mango and pineapple, citrus lemon, lemon peel, lime, orange, some brett and funk with a hint of black peppercorn and herbs.

Taste: Quite similar to the aromas with tropical mango and pineapple shouting out followed by lots of citrus lemon and orange, peel and rind. There’s some light farmhouse funk, hay and pepper spice on the finish.

Mouthfeel: Dry, light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: Brilliant. Brett doesn’t always work, but it works so well in this Farmhouse IPA. Very nice tropical and citrus aromas and taste that worked well together and coupled with the light farmhouse funkiness was very balanced. The 8% abv just did not feel like it was there and I was drinking it like it was a sessionable beer. A must buy beer in my book.

750ml cork-finished bottle, served in a tulip.

Pours a hazy copper-orange beneath a billowy, short-lived head. Little to no lacing.

When I popped the cork, a genie-like cloud of lemon, pine, and band-aid aromas burst forth from the bottle. Once poured, a honeyish sweetness and a touch of grapefruit joined the party.

First taste was tart, juicy lemon with a hint of apricot, a touch of malty sweetness, and substantial brett funk. As the beer warmed, the brett mellowed and melded more into a backbone of sweet grains and fruit flavors: peach, mango, more lemon, tangerine, and grapefruit. I took about an hour to sip my tulip, and the more the beer developed, the more I liked it. I felt this was a nearly perfect blend of sweet/funky/bitter.

At first, a generous carbonation drove this beer a bit roughly over my tongue. As I sipped and the bubbles escaped, the mouthfeel became a bit smoother, and I wouldn't say either was better than the other – I liked it both ways.

Overall, I found this beer to be delicious. In fact, I called it my “first best” beer of 2013. It's complex and flavorful, and in my opinion, comes together well. Strongly recommended to folks who like a healthy dose of brett in their beer.

Love these two guys so couldn't see anything coming bad from this one and it pours a hazed golden straw hue with a sudsy two finger head and some subtle lacing,on smell I don't have any previous knowledge on the hop list but its gotta be Sorachi Ace with aromas of lemon sherbet,Brett, lavender and farmhouse funk love it,the mouthfeel is medium bodied and perfectly carbonated with beautiful tastes of pineapple, lemon sherbet, lavender, funky Brett and finished with a crisp citrus hoppy bitterness and overall expensive but sublime one beer you have to drink cheers.

Not what I was expecting, but a really nice, funky saison?

An amazing beer! My first of a Brett/IPA ( tho with the very aggressive hops more like a double IPA). Poured with a smallish, sudsy, off-white head that completely fades and no lace. Color is a very slightly hazy yellow with a huge range of size bubble trails from tiny to grande. Aroma is a volatile blend of hop, spice, lemon & other citrus, yeast, funk. Flavor's much like nose, mammoth hop, more of an edge to the tang from not just carbonation but from the Brettanomyces, fairly dry with only a very slight sweetness. Body is good with very good carbonation. Finish is like flavor with grapefruit coming thru strongly in the finish along with strong alcohol warming and lots of lingering bitterness. Very drinkable; would be a great summer brew.

bomber into a hennepin glass
poured aggressively, leaving a nice thick head that dies down pretty quickly. golden yellow in color. smells excellent, a real saison like smell, very funky. leaves a little IPA-ish aftertaste but overall, very reminiscent of a saison. carbonation is definitely not overkill and the booze is very well hidden. i like this beer a lot and i'd have it again.
