From cervezasespeciales. In Teku glass. Watching Sons of Anarchy 3x12. Thick dark. Nice aroma. Roastyness I usually dislike is a bit noticeable in mouth but a nice hops bitterness compensates it

330ml bottle from Good Spirits Wine & Beer (£4.20):
This one was quite a thick & very strong winter porter that had quite a smooth taste & came through with a nice balance too, although the dark malts & chocolate flavours did seem slightly more pronounced in places. There was some nice bitterness & touches of spice in there along with some smokey flavours & a little warming alcohol, perhap a touch more than I'd have liked but it was still a solid effort from the brewery.

2012 Bottle shared with Boise RBers. Initial impression was disappointment, but this was one to sneak up on you, very subtle in many ways. I had hoped to resample before leaving to get a second impression, but was left with lots of positive thoughts and approving nods.

Not sure if I got a bad bottle or what, but this was almost a drain pour for me. It was a gusher when I opened it and had a very off putting aroma and flavor.

Poured a blackish bodu with frothy, foamy head that is a little bit of a gusher. There seems to be an espresso like coffee aroma in this beer as well as chocolate and something sweet and spicy and cinnamon. Sturdy, medium to heavy bodied beer, has the sweet tastes from aroma along with a little hoppy dryness that adds balance and a dry finish that complements beer.
