Bottle: Poured a hazy dirty beige color lambic with a nice large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of funky notes with light barnyard notes offset by lightly sweet grapes notes. Taste is also dominated by lightly sweet grape notes with some oak and some funky barnyard notes. Acidity level is minimal and well balanced against the tart notes of the base beer. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation. I really like the mix between the tart notes of the lambic and the sweeter notes from the Riesling.

Pours a gorgeous light silver yellow with a healthy, but quickly dissipating head.

Sweet grape juice, oak, leather and some funk in the nose. Must covered grapes dominate with nice barnyard-y undertones.

Classic wine-y Riesling sweetness upfront. Juicy grapes, funk and must all mesh together quite well. This leads into a grape heavy mid-palate that explodes with vinous acidity and classic lactic, sour acidity. This mid-palate sourness is the balancing point of this beer as it gives way to a dry and tart finish. Barnyard and oak run subtly throughout and temper the juicy characteristics of the grapes with earth and wood.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a light carbonation, as expected stylistically.

Overall this is a really nice lambic from Mikkeller. I honestly thought that the other beers in this series that I have tried (Spontankriek, Spontanale) were really quite atrocious but this is a significant step forward from those brews. It's a great beer and could serve very well as a white wine substitute. It's complex and easy drinking with everything I'm looking for in a lambic. Good effort.
